Absolutely love this place! The department sales are rotated so if it isn't on sale this week it will be next week. I have two complaints however, one would be the shipping time...it takes forever. There is no rush in getting your purchase shipped out and delivered, and you pay for shipping which is high. Second, items that are not included in the sales are waaay over priced and some items are never included in the sales. It is worth your while to wait until the item you want goes on sale otherwise you will pay way too much...up to 50%-70% more. Oh, and no shopping on Sundays...that is the "day of rest" for the religious community, to spend more time worshipping a diety that would rather not be worshipped...according to the book about the aforementioned diety, but hey, worship as you wish, you know the consequences for not following orders. Also, the day of rest is for family time and that makes good sense...I guess...unless Sunday is a "family" shopping day. Either way, it is what it is. Closes at 8pm regular days so plan wisely before going, you will most certainly spend more time than you anticipate. You will feel like a kid in a candy store that has miles of goodies and cavities...
Read moreI entered Hobby Lobby anxiously considering what I could do to that would be a personal, thoughtful memorabilia for Volunteer Recognition Sunday. I didn't have much time so, with no real ideas, had no clue even where to look in the store. A young lady on staff listened to my dilemma and, with a smile, led me directly to where I needed to be. She asked insightful questions to help me whittle down options and dust off my crafting abilities. She assisted to estimate the extremely short time limit I had to work with. Not only did she help me gather the needed materials, she noted current sales on Friday, which helped me stay within my project budget, but also triggered my memory of several other items I could get :) After I picked those items up, she wound up being my cashier as well with the same warm smile.
Today, less than 48 hrs later, I was successful in presenting these cute, personalized bracelets and keychains complete and on time. I could kick myself for not remembering her name, but she well represented herself and her work. Thank you...
Read moreI go in a lot and while I can usually find what I need and the prices are relatively good; the customer service is always lacking. I'm never greeted at the door when I come in,even if employees are in the front of the store; the employees are not approachable and make me feel like not even asking questions; if I do ask questions, I only have a 50% shot of the employee being able to answer, or they will answer you in a manner that makes you feel ignorant--it's hard to learn anything from this shop. A hobby shop is supposed to help beginners while also catering to veteran hobbyists. Many times, I've gone home and bought things from amazon instead. I've never worked in a hobby shop, but I know more than some of these guys just with my years playing around. And my views aren't just mine--I know many people who won't go back because they were treated like idiots when starting out by the employees there. They go elsewhere. Despite all of that, I keep going because I want the shop to stick around. They just need better management...
