I don’t think I’ve ever done a review on a business before. Mostly because I worked 45 years in retail so I have a greater understanding for what retail workers have to deal with. I was a general manager at a wholesale club for 30 years so I had a front row seat of the reviews from people that told half truths and quite frankly just plain lied. But today I feel strongly that I need to share my experience. I went today with the intention of buying a new battery for my car. When I arrived I saw that there were two workers outside the store putting up signage on the windows outside. There was an older gentleman on a ladder cleaning the windows in preparation for the new window signage. There was another younger gentleman standing on the sidewalk holding a sign. As I approached the store neither one of them even acknowledged me as I approached the door. I went inside the store assuming that there must be someone else inside that would be able to help me. I approached the counter and looked around but didn’t see anyone. It became apparent to me that there was no one inside to help me. So I went back outside to see if either one of the gentlemen outside would help me. I walked out and stood there for a few seconds before the young guy mumbled something that I assumed was “can I help you” although I’m not sure. I said I think my battery is dead and I’d like to have it checked. He said “ok” and then continued to stand there with a sign in his hand. I kept thinking that that he would turn to the older gentleman on the ladder and say “I’ll be back”. Or that the older guy on the ladder would say “go ahead and help him”. But NO!!!! The younger guy continued to remove the backing on the sign he was holding while the older gentleman continued to spray cleaner on the glass. It was apparent to me that I was going to have to wait for them to finish what they were doing before they would help me. IF they would have said “we will be right with you” I would’ve probably been ok with waiting a few minutes. They made it seem like I was bothering them. So I decided to leave and go across the street to Auto Zone. Both of the gentlemen that I encountered at Auto Zone were helpful and pleasant even though there computer system was not working properly. They apologized that there system was down and they were having problems processing the sale. I waited patiently because they were nice and apologetic. After a few minutes they were able to complete the sale and I purchased a new $250 battery. I know where I will be going...
Read moreHuge Shout out to Wayne at O’Reillys today 8-9-18! Wayne was super helpful when he tested my battery, starter, and alternator. I found out that it was my battery giving me the problems, not just my EGR sensor that Autozone said was the problem! It was refreshing to walk into a auto parts store and not be treated like I’m an airhead just because I lack a certain male appendage! I appreciated the A+ service of you going the extra mile to install my battery and clean my terminals. Wayne even took the time to speak to my dog in the front seat of my truck and strike up a genuine conversation with me, while he worked. I didn’t feel like he was only helping me becuase he’s paid to do so, but instead felt like he actually care that I was having a problem. You can truly tell that Wayne enjoys his job and cares that his customers leave happy! I offered him a tip which he could of easily accepted and no one would of been the wiser but he turned it down saying, “Just please come again!”.Trust me I will be coming back, you have a new life long customer! It’s nice to finally have a auto parts store where the people who are employeed actually know something...
Read moreOne of the very best customer service experiences I have had. My wife and I travel to a FredericksburgTX for a weekend getaway and our truck battery goes dead. Went to Orielly’s and found out the battery was under warranty after some lengthy research. David, The manager allowed one of the co workers to replace the battery for me onsite. Young man new his business. Battery replaced in about 15-20 minutes and my wife and I were back on track to enjoy our Vacation. Thank you to David and his team for turning what could have been a stressful situation into no big deal…..outstanding customer service.
