I used to come here frequently on my trips to/from Abeliene, but after tonight's visit, I can safely say that I won't be coming back. Allow me to explain why:
-The cashier, whose name is Eric, is extremely rude, and got aggressive when I asked for a moment to decide on my order (they weren't busy). He sighed loudly, and began to smack a stack of little plastic table numbers on the countertop, as if to make sure that I knew how much of an inconvenience I was being, especially with no one else in line.
-After placing my order, I went to insert my chip card into the chip reader, and instead of saying that the chip reader doesn't work, Eric proceeded to loudly (and rudely) announce, "IT SAYS TO SWIPE IT ON THE SCREEN!"
-The restaurant was filthy, with trash on tables, old food all over the floor, and wrappers in the walkways.
-The tea was soured, and tasted like it hadn't been changed at all that day. -The soda lines also needed to have the syrup changed, and most of them were just releasing carbonated water.
-My order took over 30 minutes to come out, and when it did, half of it was missing.Upon having to flag down multiple staff members (because Eric was talking to coworkers in the back, and the other cashier straight up ignored the few other customers in the place),it took more time for the other half to come out.
-While I was waiting on my order, the kitchen staff and the cashier, were talking very loudly about a co-workers' codeine habit, and someone else's gross bacterial infection. (The whole dining area could hear it.)
-When the food did come out, the fries were undercooked, and the chicken tasted like it had been under a heating lamp...
Read moreI want to preface that I’ve worked in fast food so I can understand the struggle, but the waits, especially at night, can get so ridiculous even for a line of 8-10 you’re looking at a 30-45 minute wait (in classic Whataburger fashion I suppose). I typically swing by around 23:00-04:00 to just get a shake and almost every time their shake machine is being cleaned (okay, it’s late and better to do during the middle of the day I guess), but tonight the worker just told me they didn’t have time to refill the machine…I get it, it’s busy, but I also know to put the bag of mix in the machine only takes 5 minutes max? After waiting in line for 35 minutes after getting off work to get a shake just to be told that nothing is wrong with the machine but that it’s just empty and they don’t want to refill it…kind of disappointing but not the end of the world. If you visit during the day, this is one of those places that you NEED to check that your order is correct before pulling away. There’s a 75% chance something is missing or just simply incorrect and there’s a chance you’ll get attitude if you bring up that you got fries instead of onion rings or that all the sauces you ordered were missing…overall I think you’re looking at a 50/50 chance on food quality and service. Some of the employees are a joy which can be rare to see in the fast food industry (understandably) and sometimes the food is perfect in both freshness and accuracy,...
Read moreI truly cannot say enough great things about my all time favorite hamburger joint. I grew up next door to a previous executive of the company; Paul K. on padre island and was fortunate enough to collect and gather all the free Whataburger coupons I could from him and his wife Pam. They would give them to me almost daily as a young teen knowing I would get a hot fresh meal daily after my sports practices. Whataburger is by far, hands down , second to none the best burger ever!! I had the mushroom swiss today with jalepeno slices added and extra whataburger seasoning on my patties and man was I beyond impressed yet again. I live in Comfort, Texas and the closest Whataburger to me is a minimum of 20 minutes away in one direction not including traffic and needless to say I go at a very minimum 1 time per week sometimes as many as 4 times per week not including breakfast hours. My favorite burger of all time from Whataburger is The Famed, Notorious, Hunger-Busting, Satisfying, and down right Delicious GREEN CHILE DOUBLE. When I lived in Lubbock, Texas I would visit the Whataburger on Quaker and 73rd St. daily as it was half a block away and get one of those fantastic burgers while they had them on special. The Texas Hill Country has never had it as an option so I've missed it terribly, but I will stop at any Whataburger up around Lubbock anytime I'm there in hopes of getting my...
