Tires Plus — Local services in Fredericksburg

I really used to love this place. I needed a good local maintenance and repair shop, and at first, these guys were fast and thorough. It used to be when I set an appointment, they were prompt with oil changes and tire rotations. Unfortunately, the last time I went in, things went horribly wrong. First of all I was due for a state inspection. The only had 1 inspector on payroll. I left my car the entire day, even tried to set an appointment before hand, and they still couldn't get it done. I told them to go forward anyway with the oil change and I had ordered the extra $10 care package and a transmission fluid exchange. When I came back at closing time (because the manager on duty said it wouldn't be done until then), I come to find out that for whatever reason, they could not perform the transmission exchange due to the model and year (2012 Dodge Avenger), they had not rotated the tires, but they claim they did the oil change. There wasn't a sticker on my car like they usually put, so I am trusting they actually did it. They did not bill me for ANY of the services, but that wasn't the point. I needed all of these services completed, and I had just become very loyal to this store. It was a tremendous disappointment and needless to say I was incredibly unhappy. I still haven't gotten my state inspection done or the fluid exchange. I am searching for a shop that I can trust all my auto care needs to. It has been a real hassle, and it is sad when you start to trust a business that something like this happens. The managers involved were very apologetic and the Store manager empathized and appeared to be just as frustrated as I am. I truly don't understand what happened to...

Dude at the counter...big beard, tattoos...has no customer service. He neglected to tell me that the 24.99 shop special was a better deal than the 20% coupon I had. So he took my coupon and told me it was gonna be $31.00...20 % off of $40. No no no a good customer service associate would inform the customer that the special is a better deal and would advise me to keep the coupon. I also asked him if they could just visually inspect my brakes and let me know if my rotors might need to be replaced when I come in for a brake job he pauses and says "so basically I can do a full car inspection and that'll be $21.99." My girlfriend had 4 tires installed here spending $500+ and couldn't get out of the door with out this same dude pushing every service under the sun on her to spend more money. Now, in my opinion it's obvious this place doesn't care about customers and is just out to make as much money off of you as they can. I won't be coming back here.

Oh btw I'm sitting here listening to him talk to another customer and the customer had work done recently and something is wrong with the tires and he wants them checked. Same dude :"that'll be $21.99"...

We had our first visit to Tires Plus today and it was great! Besides replacing our two tires in our truck in a timely manner (and with a nice discount) they also helped us with some other non tire related items. On the same truck the battery went wonky so they tested out the starter and charging system free of charge. That gave us what we needed so we could get our under warrant battery replaced just a few doors down from their shop. No charge. Also, they checked out a cooling issue on our other car that also decided it was a perfect day to over heat as we were driving back to go pickup our truck. Talk about bad luck on the same day. Anyhow, Ryan, a super friendly employee at the desk, showed me how to get to the radiator (It's not exposed when you open the hood) and we filled her up to the rim. After that great assist by the Tires Plus team all was great with both vehicles and all we paid for were the awesome new tires. They have gained two new loyal customers. Great job...
