Cotton Weeds Quilt Shop — Local services in Freeport

Cotton Weeds has more than a nice selection of quilting and felting fabrics, patterns, and tools. They have wonderful, helpful staff, a long-arm service, and above all, they have the home-town "We're from Maine" persona of a privately owned, non-corporate, non-chain, value-based small business. They offer a variety of fun classes, building community and friendships with all who prize and appreciate the beauty and comfort of what needle and thread creates.

One of my favorite "go-to" locations for long-arm service...you know...for those really large quilting projects that, on a domestic sewing machine, feel way too much like wrestling an alligator!

The folks at this wonderful store were so kind and supportive, and had all the answers and a huge selection of quilters fabrics!

My daughter and I popped in for a quick visit, since I'm an avid sewer. I was particularly impressed with the classes going on for new quilters! I was able to locate most of the equipment I'll need for a quick hand stitching project, and was able to ask about more designer fabrics.

I had a great experience with their long arm quilting service. It was my first time having one of my quilts finished using a long arm machine. Michelle was very helpful with suggestions on thread color and quilting style. I love the way it turned out! I will definitely use their services again.
