Absolutely A+ store!!! A great and growing representation of Maine makers! Their newest venture on 31 Main St. in Freeport also, appears to be another fantastic place to see what Maine makers and artisans have to offer the locals and tourists alike!
I have to say that I should have reviewed this store a long time ago but I was inspired to post today after seeing a very negative review with a clear agenda to smear the business. I have shopped both stores very recently and I can assure you that 90%-100% of the items in the store are from Maine makers and artists. I happen to know quite a few of them personally which is how I found Freeport Market and then MADE!
As a loyal customer who recognizes the loyalty that the owners have to this great state's makers, I say keep up the great work and ignore the haters. You guys are the best and based upon your other reviews, I am not alone in that opinion!
Your Words Matter! Support Our Maine Artisans with Truthful & Accurate Reviews!
When you leave a review for a collaborative organization that represents dozens or even hundreds of artisans, you're not just rating a business — you're speaking on behalf of an entire community of makers who rely on that platform for their livelihoods.
Accurate reviews help new customers trust the quality and mission of artisan cooperatives. False or misleading reviews can damage reputations, reduce sales, and threaten the financial stability of hardworking craftspeople who often don’t have another outlet for their work.
"Maker" organizations often empower marginalized communities, preserve cultural heritage, and promote fair trade. One unfair comment or exaggeration can ripple out and hurt many people you've never met — people who pour their heart into every handmade product.
If you have a concern or issue, you should reach out directly to the ownership or management first. Give the organization a chance to make it right or to explain why your post may not be accurate.
