Haberdashery Resale Clothing Co — Local services in Freeport

I loved this shop when I went in! They have a great selection of clothes and their prices were reasonable but their customer service is horrible. I found a pair of boots that had 2 price tags on them, one of the tags was in the boot for $107 and the other tag was on the outside for $175. When the boots rung up the total was $183 so I asked why there was another tag for $107 and explained that I thought that would be the price. The nice gal ringing me up asked the other person working what she thought and without making eye contact or acknowledging me, the only response I got was "that's not our tag" and she dismissively continued working. Literally no other words were said. No, "I'm sorry, unfortunately that's not our tag. The price is $175 if you would like them. It's still a really good price for those." ANYTHING would have been better than how it was handled. I said to the woman ringing me up that they should be more careful about taking the tags off if that's what they paid, from where they sourced the boots, because it didn't make me feel good about the purchase. Nothing else was said to me about it and we left. I understand the shop needing to make money and mark things up, but it's good practice to take your wholesale prices off of the items you put out for sale. It's even better practice to make your customers feel valued and appreciated when they're making a large purchase in your store so that they return and don't feel the need to leave...

The clothing and shoe selection is great and the store is very clean; however, the customer service is quite sub-par. I live locally and would not recommend this store to anyone. Continue reading if you’d like to hear why.

I’ve gone into Haberdashery Resale a handful of times now and have never once been greeted by a worker—nor have I been asked how my shopping is going or how my shopping was (at checkout). This does not create a welcoming and comfortable environment for a shopper. Moreover, I purchased a sweater for $80 from here and, the first time I wore it, I noticed there was a hole in the armpit. Over the course of the day, the sweater ripped completely down the seam of the arm. I returned to Haberdashery Resale wondering if they would do anything about it, as it was an expensive purchase and there was obviously a defect. The woman working said she had to ask her boss and they would get back to me. They never got back to me. It took me going back into the store get an answer, and they responded saying there was nothing they could do about it—not refund me my money, or give me store credit or anything. She was very short with me and didn’t offer any sympathy or apologies for the situation.

As much as I’d love to support this store, their blatant lack of customer service makes shopping there such an unpleasant experience that I cannot...

Cute store! The clothes are mostly very cute and come in a variety of different sizes. The staff were very nice and understanding. Prices are quite high, but they are all designer/brand name clothing, so it makes sense. One bad thing: I tried on a jacket there, and as it is resale, it had been worn before. There was a dirty mask in the pocket of the coat. I gave it to the woman at the front counter and she apologized and threw it away. Not a huge deal, but I think they should make sure that their clothes are clean and they don’t have stuff in the pockets before they put it...
