Sherman's Maine Coast Book Shop Freeport — Local services in Freeport

We love a good bookstore. I have been to the one in Bar Harbor before, but this was my first time in the one in Freeport. They have a great selection of local books and maps, a nice art selection in the back, and a good assortment of books in all age ranges. We weren't looking for anything in particular, other than a notebook for my husband to start writing in. We did find one he liked. The only downside to this store is that there is not a lot of room to move around. It's a very full store. As bigger people, we did a lot of twisting and turning to maneuver our way around shelves and displays. There were a couple of times I had to back up to a larger space for someone else to get by me before continuing on my way. I found the Freeport store to be a little overwhelming for me as there is so much to see in a tight space. Sherman's is a local Maine bookstore with a great selection of books as well as toys, puzzles, journals and other trinkets; I always enjoy stopping in on my way through Freeport and pouring through the walls of books.

I did most of my Christmas shopping here and the staff were knowledgeable about different genres, best sellers, and other literature related topics.

While they did not have a specific book that I was looking for, they were more than happy to have it sent over from one of their other locations. If a specific book is not available at one of their other locations, they are more than happy to order it for you.

We've been going to Sherman's for years, and it's always a great experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the selection of books is amazing. We've always been able to find something we love.

In addition to books, Sherman's also has a great selection of souvenirs, including Maine-themed clothing, jewelry, and gifts. We almost always pick up something here every time we visit.
