Terrible experience overll. Salon is small confining waiting area, no counter space for transactions, only one inside bathroom which also serves as a laundry cabinet. Overpriced hair products. Great treatment initially then immediately downhill can't speak for all stylist who rent there, but the owner Gary Valenti and so called extension specialist Amanda Jones are terrible, unprofessional, unaccomodating, and simply lacking any real talent. Furthermore, the store pays for their reviews it's a joke. My hair is destroyed! After my extensions were ripped out of my head I came home and my kids told me I looked like a cancer patient. I am not even sure the last person that touched my hair is certified in extensions. I was told everyone was. I was also asked 3 months late to sign some contract stating that they tell you all they things there supposed to tell you in the first place. I was told the extensions were non damaging on all accounts which is an out and out lie. EXTENSIONS DAMNAGE YOUR HAIR. NO ONE AT THIS SALON DOES THEM PROPERLY, THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY, BEWARE. THE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY DOES NOT CERTIFY EXTENSIONS IT IS NO MORE THAN A BOGUS LITTLE CERTIFICATE, e.g. would you rather have a registered nurse work on you or a certified nurse. I'll take the former. In my opinion they want to get the extensions in, get the money and then do nothing to help maintain. The only person who really does it is only in on Wednesday. The whole thing is just a hassle. It's crowded if there are too many people. It seems they don't launder the smocks. There is only one bathroom so don't go in doing pp dance. I could go on and on. I have a good mind to file suit this place is so full of it. First review: I went on a friends recommendation to the salon. As is typical my first encounter was a good one I say this because I got the feeling not long after that my business was not that important. I was told that everyone in the salon was skilled at installing/maintaining various types of hair extensions. Later I find out there is only one stylist that services this hair. I find out later she/Amanda is only in the salon on Wed. She is great with installing the extensions (cutting is another deal), and as sweet as pie but this is the only service I get from her I cannot always make myself available on a Wed. to accommodate the salon I am tough I expect it to be the other way around. After spending around a thousand bucks Amanda suggests I may be happier with an alternative type of hair...it would seem to me that if she were truly a professional who cared about her clients present and future she would not be trying to just keep gouging me out of money. She would have just suggested the right ones in the first place. The last time I went in I was told it would be a certain price. The owner Gary is standing there saying it is $420 then Amanda huffs and says just charge her $530. It was an awkward situation and the primary reason I wrote this. I have been so upset since I don't really even want to discuss it. I paid and even tipped because I am a good customer. It is unfortunate for Salon Valenti that they don't value this. Now here I am with a head full of hair. Apparently one person who actually does the extensions and I am out a couple grand...and she won't even sort out the hair...She tells me when I get a chance at home to separate short from long...does one have to be this detailed to find out what is included in a service??? just get the hair put it in 1000 and do it again, that is the feeling I get and again it is very unfortunate. I now find myself completely unhappy simply because I feel like I was or it has been attempted to take advantage of me. No one likes this. The salon looks nice and all, but if you want a place that actually appreciates your business I vote no! Especially no for hair extensions! Do your research! ask lots of questions otherwise you'll be in/out not knowing much about your hair unless you ask all the right questions. And you will spend a...

Read moreI just had a hair cut on Sunday with Michelle. And I'm confident to say it's one of the best I've ever had!
Location: First, I didn't have a problem finding the location as I have a friend with me who actually recommended Michelle to me, but I can see it would be harder to find. Just look for the gym and go upstairs. There's plenty of parking available.
Ambiance: Very cute, stylish and super clean!
Service: Now about the awesome haircut! I've never worked with anyone who would spend so much time (good solid 30mins!) just asking me questions about my hair and what I wanted as well as looking closely at the quality and texture of my hair. All before even holding the scissors. She also very much welcomed a picture of what I had in mind unlike some stylists I knew before. Further, she took the extra time to cut my hair slow. Meaning, she didn't go full right away, but left some space in case I wanted it shorter. We both agreed shorter was good and she went for the amazing haircut I left the salon with. Happy as ever!
Price: Very very reasonable considering the quality service you get here. They really go beyond your expectations.
Overall, I cannot recommend them enough! It was so worth my commute from Palo Alto (nothing even close to Valenti around here). The big difference is that people at Valenti actually love what they do!
I'll be back in...
