Staples — Local services in Frenchtown Charter Township

I want to Thank, Bob the store manager, for helping our Family. To make a long story short, a woman at Wal-Mart stole my 7 year old grandsons laptop from a U-Scan machine at Wal-Mart. We asked Wal-Mart to give us the black Friday price that my daughter paid. She's a single mom of 3. She worked all year to save enough money to buy this for her son's Christmas present. She never left the store with it. And we made a police report and they reviewed the surveillance and seen this woman walk out with it. Anyway we didn't have enough money to pay the full price. So I asked Wal-Mart and the corporate office of they could at least honor the sale price and they said the only thing they could say was to call the salvation army. I decided to call Staples here in Monroe and Bob found us a laptop that we could afford. Now my grandson is going to have an awesome Christmas. Thank you again Staples for helping our Family. I went there to recycle a computer. An employee, Dan, kept making comments that I should just give him the computer and put it in his car so he can have it. I felt very uncomfortable. He said the computer will likely end up in the landfill anyways despite the company advertising that they recycle old computers. When I asked why they advertise that they recycle if it will just end up in the landfill anyways, he just said ‘I don’t know, because they’re weird’. When I called later to talk to a manager, Lynn, to make sure the computer was actually recycled and that I felt uncomfortable with the interaction with Dan, she just said the computer was in the bin to be recycled and did not seem concerned that I felt uncomfortable with the interaction. Truly disappointed with the appearance of the store. As a former operations supervisor at this store, its embarrassing. It's 5pm Wednesday, 5~6 employees were in copy and print. Customer service and Tech were both empty. There was a customer waiting near the Apple products. The floors look like they haven't been vacuumed in years. A palet of totes were sitting in the back of the store where customers can see. I made an Amazon return yesterday, the gentleman who helped me had the worst attitude. I asked him if he could take the amazon box and his lack of customer service experience showed. I used to love shopping at staples for the atmosphere and deals but all of that has gone down hill. 0938 is deteriorating and needs better...
