If I could rate this a zero star, I would. I’m writing to express my frustration and dissatisfaction with the Fridley, MN Bachman’s location.
My father passed away from cancer 3 years ago last month. I received a peace lily from his funeral which I have managed to keep alive. I know nothing about plants/flowers nor do I garden. After 1.5 years of having the plant, I brought it to the Bachman’s location in Fridley, MN. They repotted it, trimmed it and made it look brand new.
I returned to the same Bachman’s location today to be turned away and told that they are not repotting plants due to Covid. I was asked if I called ahead and I replied no. Why would I call ahead for a service that the business establishment has always provided in the past if Bachman’s is open for business?
I was astonished and frustrated to say the least that I carefully transported my plant there to be turned away. It may just be a plant but the sentimental value in keeping my plant alive and thriving means the world to me.
I’m a health care worker and understand the detriment of Covid and the importance in minimizing the risk. However, as an essential worker I do not see the logic in refusing a service that poses no potential risk of exposure. There are no studies or literature that suggest potential spread through nature/plants.
If Covid transmission through a plant is a legitimate concern, then the solution should require that the person handling the plant wear gloves or require a 3-day waiting period after the plant is dropped off.
After being turned away, I called the plymouth location where I was asked general questions such as the plant type/name and diameter of the pot. I was told they could do it but the florist employee who does it hasn’t returned to work since Bachman’s has reopened. Clearly, this isn’t a company wide policy.
This is the most ridiculous policy ever and it makes no sense to me. As a result, I will never give Bachman’s my business or recommend that any of my friends or family members go there.
If Covid is such a concern then Bachman’s should temporarily close all of...
Read moreI'm am Very disappointed in Bachman's. My brother and I brought in two cactus's to be repotted. They were in they're plastic pots from Home Depot. We were hoping to find pots there but they barely had any to choose from. How can a store that sells house plants Not have pots!? We had to run to 3 different stores to find pots because Bachman's did not have any. We marked our cactus's on which cactus goes in what pot. Yep you guessed it...they put the wrong cactus in the wrong pot! And on top of that they charged us for Three bags of dirt when they probably could have shared One bag...Two At The Most! And one of the pots was not even full. It had a large sink hole on one side. I will never recommend Bachman's for anything except for disappointment and getting ripped off. I wish I would have taken the few finger picks myself instead of over paying Bachman's for dirt and wrongly...
Read moreI have been coming to this Bachman location for several years. I'm very disappointed to say that the last 2 times I came to shop here, I was followed around the store as if I'm a thief! The first time it happened, I was looking at Christmas hand towels and when I turned around, I saw a store employee standing behind me spying on me. Really? What...am I going to stuff towels down my shirt or something? She then walked away quickly when she saw that I saw her. Today I returned to look for birthday gifts for my sisters and to look at Christmas decor. Again, a store employee stands there watching me from a distance but pretending to use his phone? I'm so disappointed in this. I don't see them following anyone else around the store. It must be because I am young, Asian, and they single me out. Wow, I will not return to...
