Since it is a grocery store that serves Maharashtrian food, my family went there for groceries and decided to also eat there on the 4th of July. We have been there a few times before and I was presently surprised to see that there are no price tags on most of the grocery items, you get to see the price directly at checkout.
Our order for lunch consisted of 2 orders of pav bhaji, sabudana vada, paneer frankie, and vada pav. Our order came with just one pav bhaji instead of 2 after 15-20 minutes. I brought it to the notice of the person at the counter and he acknowledged his mistake and informed me that he would get the other one as well. My son wanted pav bhaji and he opened and started eating it and mentioned it wasn't warm and we saw a big blob of hard butter that seemed to have been shoved in to hide the fact that the pav bhaji was at room temperature. I went back to the counter and told him that the pav bhaji was not hot/warm and it is never served at room temperature, The response I got was "It is from the kitchen". I am sure everything is cooked in a kitchen and not on the streets and I was still wondering what was being done to prepare room temperature pav bhaji. I had to tell him that I needed it properly done and finally "the kitchen" got it right. Now this pav bhaji is also served with cold onion and coriander leaves that have almost gone bad. They don’t serve any chutney with the sabudana vada and it was clear this was re-heated and served. I am not sure what “the kitchen” was doing for 20 minutes to serve room temperature pav bhaji and reheated sabudana vada when there were just 2 customers including us in the store.
If you want to buy groceries without knowing the prices or want to eat cold pav bhaji then this will be the best...
Read moreRecently I am finding that there is so much demand for Samosas that the wait time is ridiculous. Basically because staff is not managing the orders correctly. And do not value customer commitment. For example, on Saturday I called and placed order for 12 samosas at 5:00pm saying I would be there by 6 to pickup. I asked if it would be ready. And gave my name and asked to have it ready. All answers were indicating that it would be. I got dealyed getting there and. Arrived at 6:00 pm. No Samoas were in tray and none were packed and ready for me to be picked up. I was told it almost ready and would be ready in 5 minutes. I waited . Out came a tray with about 20 samosas. Then all of a sudden out of the woodwork appeared 4 or 5 customers who were waiting for samosas. They took it all. Even after I said I had ordered long ago. I was told next batch is getting ready. Since I came late I would have to wait more. They said they like to serve samosas hot apparently they don't pack it till someone gets there. Which is great, but why not first take care of a customer who drives 15 miles just to pickup samosas after having ordered 1 HR ago??? Makes no sense. I would have walked out. But unfortunately had to wait since I had people at home to whom I promised "Reddy's. Samosas". Finally I got the samosas at 6:30pm reached home at 7 pm. . Now I will never go there even if the samosas are best in Frisco. No more Reddy's samosas for me since I value my time.more. if someone serves me I would still appreciate it as I love it, but not willing to go through the...
Read moreIt’s a grocery store with small restaurant serving some really good maharastrian food items and grocery. You get some good masala, vada aata in grocery section. And misal , vada pav etc.. some authentic cuisine . We tried kothimbir vadi which was very nice having that prominent fresh kothimbir taste and much better then the Maharashtrian chef restaurant in Dallas. Apart from we tried moong usal and alu gobi both were good and alu gobi tested our spice level tolerance . Hope to see them continue maintaining the same quality and authentic taste in their food. Also do try mutter karanji prepared using only fresh pea they are delicious. Edit : After frequenting this place we tried few more things vada pav and best part of vada pav is pav is not sweet making it authentic Maharashtra vada pav. Misal pav this too was good having that perfect spice level which we get back home. triple shezwan fried rice made me recollect the of 90 Mumbai street Chinese which is no more present now in...
