Today I didn’t not have a good customer service experience with Taylor ( mgr that worked the door). There was only one cashier and a line. We waited in line for about 1in before making to the register to empty 3 carts of decorations. A little less than half way through Taylor came up to the cashier to suspend our order . Keep In mind the counter was still full as the store only keys in the purchases so it takes a while. At this point Taylor calls for one additional cashier. She arrives to the station next to us. Again, our current cashier is continuing to ring us up. Also note that there’s still a line behind us. The manager Taylor continues to tell people to go to the other register as the line increases, but additional back up cashier was not called after the first initial. But this time an older couple came up and kept looking in our basket, making conversation about three minutes later the manager then tells her to stop ringing us up and have us go to the other register and suspend our items. Keep in mind the short space that the cash registers used to pick up the items to hand Key in I’ll had to be moved to the additional register by us. Why did we have to move? She said because this line is only for returns or exchanges. I asked her if this line is only for returns and exchanges then how come the previous six customers before we made it to the counter and before we started ringing up halfway through we’re not having refunds or exchanges. She could not answer the question. She continued to tell me that we need to go to the other register and move all of our items. The older couple in the back we had seen go up and talk to her a few minutes earlier at this point Taylor made the decision to have us move so they can bring up the older couple that was returning two jars. Keep in mind we had $1000 worth of Decorations. We were still waiting to be serviced at the other register and that same line that they had us moved for now had another line keep in mind they’re still only two cashiers. The same line that we were removed to because they can only do returns or exchanges were now ringing up again, and no one was doing returns or exchanges. I also asked the manager Taylor how come she couldn’t assist ringing up and she told me that she couldn’t. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager was very helpful. She did apologize for Taylor ‘s behavior and said that Taylor did not handle the situation appropriately. A few minutes into talking to the manager. Another manager approaches and has Taylor get on a register. Register. I do appreciate that it was rectified. I don’t see how Taylor is Manager if she doesn’t know how to handle the situations and make decisions. Not only when I was asking why we had to move she says well apparently we’re shortstaffed today. Which contradicted what the manager said, and saying we have five cashiers, she should’ve called for more back up. Acted inappropriately to customers in order to please another customer who could’ve waited in line like we did in the other customers. I understand there’s different levels of training, thinking, customer, service, and knowledge, however; this was not acceptable, and she needs to be retrained. I don’t want to make it a race or age thing, but it was definitely a concern. Even the rationale about why she couldn’t ring up didn’t make any sense because she ended up on a register, after they had his move, they continued to ring up, and there were no returns or exchanges, and I took footage. Overall, this is always been a great store with great experience, but I feel like I should share this and hope that leadership, district, managers, and regional managers. Take note to this and do better training. I don’t think Taylor has enough experience to be a manager based off of what I seen. I don’t think she has enough experience based on what she was...
Read moreThis is an employee review. I was fired yesterday. So how were my three months here?
Incompatible, is the word I’d use to describe it. I had a very hard time communicating effectively with my now former managers, and there was a significant personality difference too. I gave it all I had, and there were times where I felt like quitting, but I wanted to stick it out with these guys, and I did. It simply didn’t work out, and I’m not even allowed in the building anymore, not even as a customer.
That’s not say they’re bad people, they mean the best, and they’re very effective at their jobs. After closing on Black Friday and the next Saturday, we didn’t have to stay much longer, and in fact broke the record for shortest after-closing time stayed. It was honestly wonderful to be a part of that.
And the district manager uses this store as an example/model of excellence. That says a lot about how well-run this place is. It’s very clean, and the managers never ask the rest of the team to do things they themselves aren’t willing to do. If there’s one thing they say that they keep their word of, it’s that. Any good leader does the same. You’ll catch them sweeping and helping with stocking products, especially in the cacophonous seasonal department.
Do I have my opinions and criticisms? Sure. But I see no point sharing them here.
Hobby Lobby Frisco staff and management, I wish you all the best, a wonderful and overflowing Christmas, a storm of blessings, and maybe one day, we can look at each other with a sincere smile. Until then, may you be blessed and kept.
You’ve made me become a better man, you’ve made me more resilient, you’ve made me more patient, and you’ve helped me grow my relationship with the Lord. That’s worth more to me than any...
Read moreThis store had horrible customer service and the management was the main issue with the store. She was not willing to help any of the customers there because she was too busy holding a personal conversation. We came in to return a clock that was damaged upon receiving it as a gift, at which point the first store we went to was willing and eager to swap out the clock for the same one if in stock. Since it wasn't we were advised to check other stores in the area which led us to this store where after finally speaking to the manager she told us it is at the managers will as to whether or not they swap out anything at all. After asking what that means it was explained that if she was having a bad day then she wouldn't exchange anything. That's in her own words. So overall hobby lobby is great but you should avoid this individual...
