Take-Away Buffet — Local services in Fruit Cove

Have passed this place a couple of times on my way home from work when I’m exhausted too tired to cook. Finally decided to turn off highway 17 in FLeming Island rush hour traffic to check it out. If you’re tired of the same ol’ same old drive-through fast food and you want homestyle comfort food this is definitely the place for you! I got two entrées, the smothered pork chop and the shepherds pie because I thought I’d eat one for dinner and save the other for lunch tomorrow, but the portions were so big that I tried a little bit of everything, (sides: a gratin potatoes, mashed potatoes, zucchini soufflé, and cabbage casserole), and still have enough leftover for not one, not two but three meals! Norma at the front counter was very pleasant and I suggested I try the swamp soup. I got a little, but I haven’t tried it yet because I’m still stuffed from my meals. I also got the banana pudding but I haven’t tried that yet. I know people may say it’s a little bland, but it’s homestyle comfort food and if it’s family food like grandma used to make with love, she would take into consideration their Heath and dietary needs and you don’t put a lot of salt seasoning on it which is fine because you can doctor it up when you get home. Will definitely be trying other entrées...

There are so many things wrong with the food at this place!! This will be the ONLY time I have food from here. The food LITERALLY made me sick, just minutes after eating a couple bites. My daughter and I both ordered the Tuscan Bake Chicken with Mac n cheese While my mother had pot roast. For a family owned business, they need to rethink their recipes. The have NO flavor at all, hospital food has more flavor than this. The mac n cheese is grainy, the chicken was not fresh, pot roast had no veggies or anything like pictured on their website. And whoever is writing all those positive reviews clearly needs their head examined. Im sorry, im all for supporting local businesses but this business needs to close down before they make more people sick from their bland grainy food. Also, for you to be considered a buffet, their needs to be a buffet there to begin with!!! False...

This was our first time trying this and we won’t be back. We placed an order the website for pick up and paid in advance. I was told the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived at the restaurant, they claimed they had no record of my order. After several minutes they finally found it but Let me know that they were out of many of the items that I ordered so I was left with getting three Tuscan chicken meals and one chicken pot pie. I also ordered two extra entrées of lasagna and was only given one and did not receive a refund. After eating the chicken, it makes sense why it was the only thing left. It was so dry, I had to throw it out. The green beans were horrible. The mac & cheese and our gratin potatoes were just as dry as the chicken.
