I don’t live in the area but it’s been my twin boys Christmas Eve tradition to eat at this ihop location every Christmas Eve for over a decade. They’re almost 21now but once again we made the drive from Saint Augustine to have our Christmas Eve lunch there today. It wasn’t busy but a very lovely and adorable young lady in a taco Christmas sweater and Christmas Pajamas 😂 greeted us warmly and promptly as we sat down. I personally worked my way through college as a server so I speak from experience when I say I know it’s hard to keep a good attitude when working during the holidays. I wish i could remember our servers name but she had only been working there 2 weeks and was an absolute sweetheart when she read several things off the menu for me as I forget my reading glasses. However, a table next to us had our same server and the people at the table created an unnecessary problem so they could clearly get free food for their party of 6. The manager came out to handle it and was very professional while dealing with a bunch of scammers. I personally would’ve lost my temper but the staff was top notch when trying to handle a ridiculous situation.
I regret not getting her name but to our very sweet and lovely server in the taco sweater; we hope your day got better and that you have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you for your very sweet hug when we left and please don’t let terrible people kill your kind spirt. And to whomever owns this location; you have a very professional staff that treats customers very kindly; even under very frustrating circumstances. The food is great but the staff is...
Read moreThe wife and I had a choice between having breakfast at Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, Metro Dinner or going to IHOP in Fleming Island today. We went to IHOP. We have been to all these places several times and always gotten good service and good food. Today was not a good day. First thing when we got sited, the wife poured a cup of coffee, it was warm not hot. It had to have been a pot left from the previous customer's. I ordered the same breakfast for both of us, two scrambled eggs well, a side of grits, hash browns, turkey sausage, corn beef hash and whole-wheat toast. The wife got eggs well, turkey beacon, grits, hash browns on top of the corn beef hash and whole-wheat toast. I got the same thing, but my eggs where not well done. You could see egg liquid. I had a table spoon of corn beef hash under the hash browns. We sent it all back. The waitress returned with the hash browns on a saucer for me with my eggs on another saucer and the sausage full of grease with burnt grill stuff on them. I had to dry the sausage off and wipe off the grill stuff. The waitress kept apologizing over and over and over which was a little to much. Twice would had been ok. It was a $2 tip, not my usual $5 tip today. Hopefully the next we go the service and the food will...
Read moreMe and my fiancé and roommate came in late tonight around 10:30, the place had just been hit with a rush and I think Hayley, our server, was the only server left on the floor. Regardless, in between her visible side work and a couple other tables, she provided great service and a lighthearted attitude. All our food save for one dish was fantastic! We had chocolate chocolate chip pancakes, strawberry banana French toast combo, French toast side, bacon side. The disappointing dish was the strawberry crepes I had ordered, that were practically drowned in strawberry syrup. I tried to stay optimistic and eat it because I’m really not the person to make a fuss, but the syrup really ruined it. I notified Hayley that all our food was great except for my one dish, and she promptly offered to remove it (I had only taken a few bites from one crepe). Will definitely be back! I’ll give the strawberry crepes again maybe, just request extra light syrup or maybe on...
