I have been coming through Fuquay since the 80's and always had the thought that one day I would move here. I left the quaintness of the revitalization area of downtown Raleigh 7 years ago and never looked back. Everything I need can be found within 6 miles of my home and even during the pandemic I have enjoyed walking the streets downtown and stopping by to K&B, Anna's Pizza, Cultivate, Stick Boys, Samantha's Jewelry, Aviator and so much more. Best of all my Fuquay Tire folks have kept our cars safe.
We have built gardens and upgraded our home, fed people less able to buy groceries, supported causes when we were made aware of needs and never felt lost in a maze of confusion.
Yes, with growth comes growing pains. I hope the traffic situation gets a boost, I hope creative restaurants come downtown (especially breakfast and a hotdog place). We do still go to Raleigh for Snoopy's.
Beyond the six miles we have a new hospital, growing medical prospects, and still a quaintness that the old Fuquay provides. I hope as we develope we can keep that quaintness and add value to the arts, sciences, museum potential as well as living environment that does take over a lot of soil.
May the wisdom of Fuquay's leaders continue it's plan on behalf of the old and new residents. Enhancing both so that it is truly...

Working at the Town of Fuquay-Varina has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The team here truly embraces the Town's slogan, "A Dash More," by going above and beyond to create a welcoming and supportive environment. The leadership is approachable and genuinely cares about employee development, offering plenty of opportunities for growth and professional advancement.
One of the things I love most is how much the Town values community impact. Every role here, no matter the department, contributes to making Fuquay-Varina a better place for residents and visitors alike. The sense of teamwork and purpose is strong, and you really feel like you're making a difference.
Work-life balance is excellent, with flexible schedules and great benefits that reflect the Town’s commitment to employee well-being. There’s also a real focus on inclusivity and diversity, and everyone’s ideas are welcomed and valued.
If you're looking for a place where you can grow your career while making a positive contribution to the community, Fuquay-Varina is the perfect place to be. I’m proud to be part of this forward-thinking,...
Read moreFuquay.. we got the most awesome mayor, re-elected about 10 times in a row. He can easily be found in a crowd as he often wears his famous "mayor style". He rocks. He and the town team as well as the local businesses organize many events/concerts, something is always "on". The town grows very fast (yummy, more taxes) and so does the infrastructure (okay, some roads could grow a bit faster..). A few years ago, there were not many good quality restaurants - there are a few now.. and counting. There is a new art center/theater and some excellent breweries (e.g. Mason Jar or Oaklyn Springs). But after all: great people! Close enough to Raleigh if you want some big city life, then come back to countryside and...
