Went here to study with a friend who is a regular here. This was my first time in. Bartender/barista lady with long dark hair was incredibly rude to me when I tried to close the window. I try not to bother employees when they are busy with something I could do myself. My mistake. Perhaps a sign that says âplease ask for assistanceâ might be better than barking rudely at your customers. She then proceeded to extremely disrespectfully tell me to throw out my La Croix or âgo outside to finish itâ, which had been empty on the table for 4 hours. This was the only water I brought with me! Watch out water carrying folks, they might make you throw out your hydro flask and buy a plastic bottle from them instead. It seems the act of closing the window and then thanking her when she did it for me was a good reason to throw me dirty looks for the remainder of my stay. I had planned on ordering a beer after finishing my work, but after being targeted by rude and disrespectful comments from the staff I decided to leave without it. I will not be back in and I am all for small businesses but I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. If you want a good place to study or work with friendly staff who are not pacing around making sure you bought something like capitalist freaks, go to Cultivate coffee. They are amazing there! You would still be supporting local but at an establishment that values community...
Read moreA great atmosphere that, in my experience, has always been welcoming. Its well staffed with great folks not lacking in character nor great customer service. I'm a local veteran who thinks it's super grand to feel comfortable taking my service dog Rosie to drink a beverage and read. I have to single out two specific employees who I witness help make locals feel comfortable to parlay and they are Rob and Anna. Rob won my vote for best smile and cander through a display of facial hair that is something to behold and envy. He's a nice person to engage with as he multitasks and keeps that smile. Anna has always shown great professional judgement as she works with all the folks on staff to ensure that her restraint and humor is only matched by her barrista skills in the finest way. That story about her punching a guys eye out is a lie I just made up so while the story is not true. I believe she could be capable. Listen I could go on about all the staff but I think this review peaked at the eyeball thing. Well, five stars well deserved for the national treasure that is The Mill. Post script, The eyeball thing, that story is just as untrue as the time Carissa bit a man's nose off! Pow I made you laugh and remember to visit The Mill...
Read moreI am a fan of the Mill. I love downtown businesses in general because they contribute to the the vitality of the town. They create 'place' where the community gathers, neighbors meet, and where an identity is created where people are proud to be from. The Mill is the epitome of this for Fuquay Varina. I never feel unwelcome in this establishment and I look forward to seeing friends every time I am here. I consider Tuesday the highlight of my week where I can see my friends Thomas, Charissa and Anna. If you are looking for a cup of coffee to enjoy with friends and family, live music and food trucks on the weekend or are looking to be refreshed by their diverse selection of 20 beers on tap, The Mill is where it is at! See you...
