Two stars because prior to this experience, Thomas Jewelers successfully resized my grandfather's wedding band within a requested time frame. Because of their work on that ring, I had decided to give them my business with my wife's wedding band, which had been custom made with a poor material choice for the metal. I wanted the same setting in white gold, which I was told wouldn't be a problem. It was meant to be a surprise for my wife for our anniversary. As you can see, the submission date was June 18 of 2020 with a July 20 anniversary date. I wasn't given a price, timeframe or expectations, just that I would have all of that information soon. Several weeks went by with no word. I called and was told I would have a price soon. Weeks more went by, I called and left a message with the receptionist and was never called back. Again this happened. Eventually, my wife discovered that her wedding band wasn't where she had stored it since it broke. Curious to the ring's progress, she visited Thomas herself, at which time he had no information for her other than he needed to give it attention and get in contact with me. Weeks later I called for an update and was told that it was engagement-ring season and that he had been busy. Finally, last Monday, (November 9, 2020) I called and left another message with their receptionist. Four hours later, I called again and simply told them I would just be picking up the ring and finding somewhere else to take it. I was placed on hold and told the ring would have to be overnighted from another facility and that I could pick it up the following day. I was never told it was being shipped somewhere else, what was being done to it, or what that process was going to cost me. I only gave consent to the process of getting a quote. When I arrived today to pick up the ring, I was told it simply wasn't cost prohibitive to recreate in white gold and I was better off to buy a new one, at which point I was then shown one that he wanted to sell me.
No communication, no prioritization and unapproved transport to a second facility ensured I won't be back. Everyone was kind while I was there and, like I said, they did well with my grandfather's ring. I was, however, deeply troubled by this experience and would encourage clear communication of expectations and accountability when dealing with...
Read moreTook my extra gold, diamonds, and sapphires to Thomas in late 2020 to make something special for me . Checking back with him every 6 months he just kept telling me I'm gonna have my designer friend design something nice for you. This went on for 2 years.Going into the 3rd year 2023 Thomas told me his friend went back to truck driving so what do I want him to make out of my gold and stones. I said I would like a cross pendent and matching earrings. So the waiting game continued. Calling every few months to check on the progress. Over thoes years Hannah the assistant that works there many times said Thomas will call you back in a few minutes which never happened. After picking out a design in 2023 he said he would have it ready by my birthday in September. Never happened. I asked maybe by Christmas? Never happened. Going into 2024 they told me my pendent and earrings would be ready by the end of February. Never happened. Finally in June I get a text with a picture of the pendet cross and was told that I could pick it up but the earrings were not done yet. Then they told me the price which was outrageous. I said take my stones out of the cross and gather my stuff together and I will pick it up. After 4 years of being put off and treated like I was less important than other clients I had enough. 4 years of anguish and I have no finished product just some melted gold and loose stones. At one time I was excited about a special jewelery set that I cuould pass on after I'm gone lol. I do not recommend Thomas Jewelry for...
Read moreThomas Jewelry has done a bunch of work for me and I’ve been remiss in writing a review. He fixed my mom’s emerald ring twice - once I lost an emerald and he replaced it. Then I lost another one but my husband had not been happy with the price of first one. Thomas recommended that I get man made emeralds at each end to match colors. That price was much more affordable and I have an extra one now if I lose another one. Perfect!
He also sold me a magnetic clasp for a necklace I had a hard time latching. Installed it quickly and it’s perfect.
I had a charm from my brother’s death that I wanted to put on my Pandora bracelet. He got a Pandora circle and attached my memorial piece to it. It was done Friday but I had a busy weekend and forgot to pick it up on the way home. I’ll get it tomorrow when he opens. He’s...
