Recently, I had the privilege of visiting Murdoch's, a gem in the heart of Galveston, and I was thoroughly impressed by the building's fascinating history and its present-day offerings. Although many may not be aware, this building has played a significant role in the development of the city.
Murdoch's was originally built in the late 19th century as a bathhouse, providing a place for visitors to bathe in the sea and enjoy the sun and sand. At the time, bathhouses were a popular feature of seaside resorts, and Murdoch's was one of the most sought-after destinations in Galveston. Over the years, the building underwent numerous renovations and transformations, but its timeless design and elegant architecture have remained a testament to the city's rich heritage and its enduring spirit.
Today, Murdoch's has been repurposed as a gift shop, offering visitors a chance to purchase a wide range of souvenirs and gifts related to Galveston and the surrounding area. The shop is well-stocked and offers a delightful selection of items, from t-shirts and hats to jewelry and home decor. Despite its transformation, the building still retains its timeless charm, making it a unique and unforgettable shopping experience.
Overall, I had a lovely time visiting Murdoch's, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Galveston who is interested in the city's rich history and heritage. Whether you're a history buff, a lover of timeless design, or simply someone who enjoys discovering new and interesting places, this building is a must-visit destination that offers a unique and unforgettable experience. So, if you're looking for a charming shopping experience in Galveston with a rich history, be sure to...

She didnāt even let me ask her if a picture of my drivers license was ok to show, she immediately rudely said āI donāt do thatā Iām very well over 21 and I totally understood I wasnāt upset since I know itās a risk. My mother was going to purchase a drink for her self and she made a rude comment saying āif he drinks it it canāt be in hereā implying that she was going to buy it for me, that was not the case at all. I proceeded to ask how her day was since I could tell she was not having a great one.. which I would too if I was her. To which she replied āIām tired of these kids trying to get in here and get a drinkā insinuating that I was attempting to purchase alcohol. which I replied to saying āIām well over 21 Iām not a kid but I was just wondering so thatās why I asked before I even brought a drink up to the counter or ordered anythingā to which she took offense to or something and proceeded to tell me to shut up and that she wasnāt serving me so to be quiet. At no point was I rude or upset with her until she started making assumptions and accusing as well as yelling at a customer. Will never be back. I didnāt even get to ask her anything before she got offensive. Poor management. Poor communication. Poor...
