I was called rude and berated by one of their sales people for simply asking if they could match or come close to prices I found online when doing market research of a couch they had there.
It is my first time buying furniture and I was shopping around Boise at various places. I'd had my eye on this couch for about 5 or 6 weeks. The price hadn't come down and it hadn't sold, so I figured they'd be willing to work with me on price just to get it out of their store. I have never tried to "wheel and deal" in my whole life, always buying things at the price as marked. When asking trusted friends and family for advice, they believed the price was too high for the quality and that delivery of furniture is usually free. So if I were to buy the couch set at their price and pay for delivery and taxes, it would have been about $970. Online, I found the same couch set for $745, which included tax and provided free in-home delivery.
Little did this sales person know that I would have much preferred to purchase locally and was willing to buy the product at this CHF store for up to $900, $155 more than I could get online. But instead, the sales rep didn't try to negotiate with me. He just jumped right into calling me rude, which went on for quite some time.
They could have gotten a lifelong customer. Instead, they chose to be extremely rude to a first time furniture buyer who really could have used some guidance. They will never receive business from me and I plan to spread the word. And to future sales reps who are faced with this issue and think someone might be rude, please try to consider that this person could simply be a novice and doesn't know where to start. There's no need...
Read moreWe entered Chf Clearance Center simply to look for minimal décor pieces and tchotchkes. We encountered Martin Evans upon entering the store where he kindly asked if he could help us find anything. We explained what we were looking for, and that we were going to use store credit to pay for it. He graciously offered his services and did not hover (expert handling of customers who are “just looking”; we appreciated the lack of a “hard sell” attitude). We did find a number of items we liked and then had a number of questions. Martin was EXTREMELY helpful and always maintained a positive, courteous and upbeat attitude no matter how many questions we had. When we were finally done shopping, he had to write up each item (since the type of sales were somewhat atypical) and then he escorted us to the cashier (who was rather new). Martin stayed with the cashier to ensure any help she needed he could (and did) provide immediately. Martin’s commitment to customer service, and his genuine desire to make his customers happy and satisfied is VERY refreshing. We congratulate Chf on employing such a wonderful sales professional as...
Read moreWe went to almost all the furniture stores around town and happen to spot your store and pulled in. Talked to George and had a good chat with him , very professional and showed us the store and was very helpful. Answered all my questions and let us alone to take a peek at the furniture ! I dislike high pressure and I think everybody else does too and George was very super about allowing us space ! We found two or three dressers and a chest that we liked! And would work well in our extra bedroom for some more storage ! I asked George if he could hold it for two hours why we thought about it and looked at some different furniture and George said no problem ! We were back within an hour and talked to George and told him to fill out the paperwork ! What a pleasure working with the sales person that treats you like you would like to be treated unbelievable ! We definitely enjoyed the store and the layout and it looks a lot bigger inside than it does on the outside a lot of furniture and a lot of different choices to make and great prices too ! thanks for all your help, and a great experience and we...
