No customer service! Spent around $2,000 yesterday on kayaks, mounting kits, accessories and clothes. I used to work at the other location in town and there was ALWAYS someone who knew how to mount kayaks and help every single customer with mounting them on their cars, they'd even get tipped $10-$20. I asked 3 times for help, first response was "Sorry, I don't know how these things work." This was also the same guy claiming to not having a mounting kit and needed to go to our car manufacturer, that kit was displayed right next to him. How many people has he told that they don't carry kayak mounts? After my 3rd attempt for help I went back inside and told the cashier how offended I am, having been a prior employee, struggling right at the front door for 2 hours and no one even tries to help. His response was "We're really short staffed." Please look at parking lot picture, even if being understaffed is true, there were TWO cars in the parking lot. They were definitely not too busy to have a stock guy come out and help (They have radios to talk to the whole staff.) Not to mention one of us in orthopedic shoes and the other with a cane. I really should've gone to the other Dunham's, it was obvious the mall location hires a bunch of untrained teenagers. Kathy, (Respectable Dunham's Manager) you would've fired someone on the spot it was that bad. I will never come back to this...
Read moreI went into Dunham's to buy a pair of shoes I were 13 eee, I waited several minutes in the shoe section by The Doors where the staff goes in and out waiting for an employee to come help me to find some shoes, (finally I see an employee)I politely asked the boy working in the shoe department for some 13 eee and I'd like to see anything that he has in my size I waited 10 minutes he returned he said to me I don't see anything in your size. Giving me the feeling I should walk away but I further inquired about the shoes, I asked him are you sure that there is no shoes in this entire store that will fit me ? He replied I'm not sure@? So as I started to look on my own, he decided to also start looking and take control of the situation so I let him. He found one pair of size 13 Triple E shoes with velcro and handed them to me So there was a pair of shoes in my size in the store? furthermore I was not satisfied with those shoes so I continued to look into the shoes myself and I found several pairs of shoes in my size!! I chose the ones I like they were some cross-training shoes.
very in an incompetent staff with no training or ambition or ethics store has what you need...
Read moreMy friend recently told me she left Dunhams due to staff not wearing masks, and I didn’t really believe that could be an issue. I was just in there with my daughter last week, and I didn’t notice people not wearing masks. That’s probably because I couldn’t find anyone to help us- my daughter and I wandered around for 20 minutes unable to find any associates. I finally stood in line at checkout to ask where the tennis rackets were (spoiler alert- they are way in the back by the golf section in a room that’s almost separate but labeled “the hitting room.” I never would’ve found them.) I ended up going back this Monday, and three young staff members were standing together talking without masks. No one greeted me or even looked my way. I decided to leave even though Dunhams itself has a good selection of items. I’ve just never found the staff in the Traverse City location to be helpful and am disappointed staff...
