You know I just filled out a survey for my local store and gave it 5 stars all around and today it was definitely not the case. I went in for the tjx event; giveaways, giftcards, new merch, but I came with my little ones so we didn't get there until 10:45, but I was still hoping to participate. There was nobody at the door and I couldn't find anyone to ask, so I was bummed but assumed it was over or they were not doing it (as I had gone to tjmaxx the day before and wasted an hour waiting for them to open to only tell me they weren't doing the event-I read the small print in the email afterwards that not every store may participate, lesson learned).
Anyway, when I went to checkout today the woman who rang me up was incredibly rude. I don't know if that's just how she is or if she was having a really bad day, but I used to run a retail store so know days can be tough, but you still have to have good customer service. As she handed me the receipt she said "you're welcome" with an impatient look on her face. I was stunned. Even when I dealt with total a**holes who expect you to change the world for them I still always said "have a nice day" as they left. I was just a normal neutral mom who didn't deserve to be treated that way.Ā Even my daughter had said, "What was wrong with that lady?" as we were heading to the parking lot. If it was my store I would want to know when someone had such a terrible experience that I had today as it will effect my return...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my very 1st visit to a Home Goods Store. I will never go back. I wanted to purchase a 2+ ft. lantern with glass sides. Upon arriving at the checkout I asked the cashier to wrap it as we were travelling. She stood there and said, āI donāt know how to do that.ā I get that a sheet of paper at the cash would not fit around the lantern but Iām sure with some tape and more sheets of paper she could have figured out how to make it work. So after explaining again that I needed something around the lantern we are now both standing there. The cashier then asks me how she can do it, to which I reply any way you can or call someone that can help you. She continues to just stand so I started to wrap it myself and do her job. I donāt know if this was her 1st day on the job but problem solving & customer service were not her strong suits. She was not a teenager either but someone of age who should have been able to handle this. I gave it 1 star as the floor...

When he finally went he was excited because they had beard products but they haven't had them since :( it's still usually not hard to get him to go with me though because he holds out hope they will he back lol. Plus we get amazing deals on things there. Especially on toys for the kids! Our son loves the little kid cart at the local thrift shop and my husband promised him if we ever found one like it we would get it for him. We found one at Home Goods for $40. I honestly didnt think we were going to have to deliver on that promise but at least it was reasonable lol. Now I just have to break it to my husband that I'm not lugging this cart to every...
