The customer service at Spectrum is terrible, both online and in the store. I received a letter saying that I was eligible for a faster router, just go online and and fill in my info. There was no such website. I tried customer service. There is no such person. The chat room is just an automated robot with canned answers that have nothing to do with my problem. It finally told me to go to my local store. I was lucky the first time I went - I didn't have to wait too long to get the new router since I was the only one there. I was given the new router and was told to return the old one when I got hooked up. The new router wouldn't connect to my modem, no matter what I did. (Spectrum's router, Spectrum's modem.) I went to the store to report my problem, and was told that I really didn't need the new router if the old one was working, so just bring the new one back. I tried to do that, and that is when I got the usual long wait in line that everyone else is complaining about. There were 4 people ahead of me, 5 service reps besides the manager. Only one of the service reps was actually helping a customer (very nice lady that I have dealt with before). The other 4 were looking at their phones or computers, going to the back room for awhile, chatting with each other. Then when one of them actually did decide to do his job, he called up the LAST person who had come in. Besides me, there was an older couple who had been sitting and waiting the whole time I was there. I left. I dread going back, but I will have to to return this router, or I may be charged for it. I have not had too many interruptions of internet service, so I can't complain about that, but their customer service is usually horrible. I hate writing bad reviews like this, but something needs to wake this company up - hire better employees, and retrain the good ones that they have. Also their website has ALWAYS...
Read moreOn October 28th at around 8 I went to Traverse City office of charter spectrum to get information on internet access at my home. When I arrive was greeted great got all signed up for internet high-speed through spectrum and was sent home with the modem and the router and everything I needed to get internet access that night when I got home and hooked it all up. When I got home hooked it all up it was not connecting to the internet. I called back spectrum and they told me that they would not have a service representative to come out until 2 days later Thursday. Very frustrating being told one thing and something completely totally different happening after paying my own money for. Customer service was not helpful and did nothing to want me to stay in business with spectrum. Still sitting and waiting for internet and it's very sad. On my way home today October 29th at around 3:30 p.m. going right down my street in Buckley Michigan in the middle of nowhere not one block over was a spectrum van in my area out in the middle of nowhere after I was told that there wasn't going to be one in the area till Thursday. Stopped to talk to the man he informed me that there was nothing that he could do and that I needed to call back spectrum to let them know how I felt. I don't understand why why I was lied to....
Read moreAbsolutely one of the WORST companies. Called and talked to someone about getting new hook up for internet. Told the lady I had a very long driveway about 900ft. She reassured me SEVERAL times that it doesn't matter how long my driveway is, I would get internet. So the tech shows up and the first thing out of his mouth when getting out of his truck was "oh you arent getting cable here " and when I asked why, he said he can only drop cable for about 300ft. So he said he would turn it over to the construction department, and they would get me all hooked up. Even tho I told him the lady on the phone said doesn't matter the length. He said the ladies in the office were dumb and knew nothing. So, two weeks go by. I get a call from Darth vader... only because he was eating his mic and breathing into is so heavly. He says the construction team has been out there and is ready to move forward on getting me cable... I just need to fork over $2679... funny cherry land didn't charge me anything to run power down my driveway. DTE didn't charge me anything to hook up... but charter.. thank God verizon offers an internet box for $50 a month with the same speed as charter! Lost my...
