Men's Wearhouse — Local services in Garfield Township

My boyfriend and I are a young couple. He was looking for a suit to interview for scholarships at a very prestigious flight department. The first place we went was men's wearhouse and it was by far the worst place to go. I work in retail and I specialize in suiting. I know exactly how a suit is supposed to fit and I know what good customer service looks like. When we walked in, no one greeted us and when we were acknowledged we were handed off to someone else. The gentleman "helping" us put my boyfriend into a size 46 short. He was SWIMMING in it. I expressed that I felt it fit poorly and he answered "that's how it's supposed to fit." After which we immediately left and bought his suit jacket (which by the way was comfortably a slim fit, size 42 regular) and pants elsewhere. I have to say I am absolutely appalled. I have outfitted several wedding parties, graduates, and young businessmen and never have I put someone in that ill fitting of a suit and tried to pass it off as acceptable. First time buying suit for a work function which felt like a daunting task (even at the ripe age of 35) as I live in my company branded polo shirt and slacks. I have no idea what colors match, walked in there without the slightest idea of what my dress shirt size was (in fact, had no idea there was a sizing scheme that outside of S, M, L, etc.), and I was blown away by the service.

Shelby was patient and knowledgeable, walking me through the process and giving excellent suggestions (to be honest, she picked out my entire outfit). She guessed my size just by looking at me, and saved me from making the fatal mistake of wearing a blue suit with a black belt.

I called ahead of my husband's visit to see what the suit rental situation would be. I was told that there was some flexibility with regard to returning suits as the rule is they must be returned the day after the event. I was never told that they could be returned in another city so they did try to charge me for an additional day. After I mentioned that I was not told that on the phone they did let that go which is why I gave them an extra star. The Experience itself left a little bit to be desired as my husband went to try on the suit & the seamstress said that the sleeves were too long and that she would take them up. He asked if he should try it on again before he picked it up the next day and she said that would not be necessary. That was a mistake, the sleeves were not ironed and they were only tacked with a minimal threading so they did not look right.
