Today I visited the Hobby Lobby on Lavon in Garland. It was almost toward closing time. At 7.45pm, I heard the announcement. They were going to be closing in 15min. It was time to make our way toward the cashiers. I Joined the first line where Julie was attending to a woman who was returning a few small items. The transaction took over 20min. Two people who were behind her went to join another line. I was next. I did not want to leave the queue and go to another cashier because everyone was rushing toward the other cashiers, and I may end up at the back of another line. I am up in age, was too tired to move fast and moreover did not want to lose my spot. Just as the woman was wrapping up, a young lady walked up to her with a basket full. I would assume she was her daughter, around 20yrs old. She picked up the basket and placed it on the top of the counter acting as if this was part of her mother's purchases. Where was she in the past 20-25min? Julie reached over into the basket to start scanning her items. I informed her that I have been patiently waiting all this while, why would she check out her items before mine. Juanita another cashier was standing on the other side of the booth, and Julie looked her as if reaching out for answers. Juanita told her to go ahead and ring up the young lady's items. I was hurt and believe I was treated unfairly. I asked to speak with the manager. During this time the lady was being served. When the manager finally came, I explained to her what had transpired. She was very cordial and did apologize to me. But the deed had been done; I felt disrespected and decided to walk out without making the purchase. I had picked up 12 shelving brackets that were 50% off today. They were not enough. I was going to be visiting the other store in Murphy or Plano to see if I could find more as I have a big kitchen project at hand. Unfortunately, I did not make the purchase. I am taking my business elsewhere where I would be treated like a paying customer,...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever experienced. We were purchasing fabric, the bell was rang multiple times by people in the department with NO RESPONSE. We needed the entire roll of fabric anyways, so we went to the front. A lady with glasses, that may be a lead in some way standing against the glass got on the intercom and requested service to fabric- wow, after the bell has rang 4 times and you can hear it from the front, gee thanks. She never says a word to us, we were 2nd in line. Then she got on the intercom and called for someone to help checkout, AGAIN- never acknowledged us holding a the roll of fabric. But knew that no one assisted us. A nice cashier came up and said we could come to his checkout. I explain no one ever came to the fabric dept, I measured it and it was 2 yards. He looks at the useless lady still leaning against the glass doing nothing and she looks at us and says "you need to go back to fabric for them to measure it." Excuse me? You literally saw us standing here, knew we hadn't been helped in fabric, and wait until we are actually getting help to say a word?! Absolutely unacceptable. She let that cashier be put in an awkward situation because she couldn't speak up and be a leader. Hobby Lobby needs to retrain her or find someone to actually do the job and provide...
