I'm very disappointed and frustrated at what was told to me tonight when I pulled up to the drive through at 10:30PM on Friday 1/27/23. This is the 3rd attempt I have tried to visit this establishment in hopes for a new regular place for Mexican cuisine here in the Garland/Sachse area. The 1st two times, I went through the drive thru, on both weekend days in the early afternoon...only to wait for about 15 mins and not have anyone greet or answer the voice box. At both those points I tried calling to see if they were open...and no answer. Just rang, and rang and rang ... I finally gave up. But, i did drive up to the window which was closed and could see people's shadows in there just not caring to answer the phone or drive thru. Until this 3rd time, i tried again more than a month later... I pull up after work...at 10:30PM as I checked online what time they close. Online said its open until 11PM. So, I got excited to finally try this place out and pulled up to the drive thru. Again...after waiting in silence for about 10 mins...no answer or greet. This time, I called and the phone rang about 15 times- a girl answered. She stated they were closed for the evening, and that they decided to close early because it was slow and there was too much cleaning that had to be done. I was shocked she said this. I asked her is this a normal occurrence and what time do they usually close on Friday nights. she said "eh, it could be if we're slow...but because the restaurant is so big and there's only a couple of us...it takes a long time to clean and they needed to close early." I was in shock. Asked her for the managers information...she said the easiest way is to email someone from the site. She also confirmed that the closing time is usually at 11PM on Fridays and Saturdays. She really didn't seem to care and was just explaining again how the restaurant is too big and there's too much cleaning to do in order to close by 11PM. She then said there's nothing really to do because they had already put away the food by 10PM. I asked how are they advertising online open until 11PM but put away all the food at 10PM. Doesn't make sense. Then why not close at 10PM.
Really sad there's staff there in this mindset. Especially when you all are developing new patrons and customers... or at least trying to. This is bad business...especially for a restaurant in this city. I'm from the hospitality industry myself and could never tell guests what I was told tonight. Do better El Paisa, know what employees are speaking for your restaurant and how they're...
Read moreWow! We always like to try new places and this little place is near home. As always, we have no expectations of new places. This one absolutely rocked and set a new standard for traditional Mexican food. My husband tied the Caldo de Rez, a childhood favorite, and some tacos. His face lit up when he tried to soup. It really satisfied in every way. He can't wait to come back this weekend and try the Pizole. I tried the combination plate, which includes a taco, quesadilla, and flautas. I enjoyed every bite! I went with a bistec taco, which I found to be savory in a way that I don't typically find in a taco shop. The flautas were fresh, crispy, and flavorful, an unexpected star on the plate. They offer a salsa bar, but be warned, the salsas are not for wimps like me. I tried them all, but decided to pass on salsa because they all seemed a bit hot for me. I went with extra lime and fresh cilantro. I didn't miss the salsa at all. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offer a wide variety on their breakfast menu. We will definitely be back to check that out. El Paisa is a real win! A new...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my experience here. They were very disorganized with people in the line having to go to different parts of the line depending on the food you were ordering. People had to step over people or skip them in order to order their food. The line cooks didn’t know what was going on. Various families left and went across to Springcreek barbecue or Chilis before they even ordered because it took so long.
I ordered the Chile relleno with beans and rice, as well as an order for chips and queso. My brother ordered a torta and my mom had tacos.
The Chile relleno was bland and had no taste. The beans and rice didn’t really have any taste. The only saving grace were the chips. They were nice and crispy and delicious. The queso looked old.
My brother’s torta was greasy from them drenching the bread in oil before putting it on the griddle. My mom’s tacos had the same problem with the tortillas. They were so greasy. The fries my brother had with his torta were barely cooked. They dipped them in the oil for a couple of seconds and then took it out.
Overall, I wouldn’t...
