Still as busy as ever as a buffet despite the pandemic. (I'm mentioning this in a positive way🙂)
Q.) Do I still have to wear a mask when I go here? A.) Yes & No. Explanation: when a customer asked if he can come in despite not having a mask b/c he forgot to bring one, one of the ppl in the front @ the cashier said it's ok. His whole family forgot their masks. 🥲 However, the majority of the customers in the buffet wore their masks😷. They only took it off when they sat @ their tables to eat. Which is what I also did.
🖐 Bonus! aAsk an employee! They provide light plastic gloves (not easily breakable, one size fits all) that u could use whenever u go back to get more food, so ur not touching the utensils w/ ur bare hands when putting food on ur plate. Dependent on u if u want to reuse the glove for each visit u go to the food.
Q. How is the seating arranged? A. Honestly I'm not sure, but I have noticed that some ppl are seated by the waiters, others can walk in & get their own table, & most ppl were seated at least a table in btwn the next set of ppl eating. (🤔 Guessing this is their way of social distancing)
Q. How is the food? Are they still serving crab? 🦀 A. Yes & Yes. They still have a variety of food as u would see at any buffet u go to & is delicious😋. I came to eat here on a Friday & they served crabs. This day, their crabs are not as big as before, but still tasty. (Depending on what's delicious to ur taste buds 😋)
Q. Do they still have someone there ready to cook ur food? (Hibachi) A. Yes. I noticed the employees doing this are also wearing masks as well. 😷
Hope this review helps b4 u decide to come...
Read moreThe food was bad. The sushi is not good. Last time I came, the sushi rolls were bigger. I didn’t have high expectations anyways since it’s a buffet. They are super small now and mostly cucumber.Whenever I looked at the rows of food, most of it had been sitting out for awhile to the point the noodles looked pretty dry and so did the broccoli beef. That’s actually what kept me from getting that. I tried to keep it safer my staying with fried foods so I’m sure my arteries hate me. But still, most of the food tasted as if it was sitting out for 4 hours or more and my husband had even tried more things than me, and had even more concerns about the quality and safety of the food. Even the raw meat on the Mongolian grill side looked as if it was dried out, even the blood. The shrimp was pretty slimy.
My biggest complaint is some of the plates were not washed completely and had food stuck to them, so check your plates! It could be a faulty dish washing machine, or someone not cleaning them properly. We are talking whole pieces of bell pepper stuck to them, and some half a noodle.
Even arriving at 7:30, the food shouldn’t have been THAT dry, or left out that long. You still had a whole TWO HOURS before closing. I get not changing anything the last 30 minutes.
I’ve seen some comments saying the manager told them “Go somewhere else then”… trust me, we will. We only went because it was close by and the time frame. It’s sad because this buffet used to not be that bad. But that was a couple of...
Read moreFlaming Buffet is a good name! This place went down in flames for me . Don't be fooled by all the good reviews and five stars! That's the second worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything looks good, presentation and looks are wonderful. But it ends there! The red sauce for sweet and sour chicken tasted fake and artificial. The tempura fried chicken was soft and flavorless . The egg rolls and spring rolls were hot and crispy and tasty on the outside, but inside there was no color or taste. The catfish fillets were nice and yellow on the outside but they were also yellow on the inside? I don't understand? I was hoping the white steamed rice was going to be Jasmine, it wasn't, it was flavorless. General Tso's chicken, jalapeno chicken, and another chicken dish were Terrible. Couldn't figure out why I was tasting muddy fish when I just had chicken on my plate. I had to spit one bite out into my napkin. Initially I was planning on going back for more to try other things. NOPE!!! One trip was enough for me. My wife said the sushi was fishy tasting. I'm writing this review about 4 hours after eating there, not sure if we have food poisoning! Both have upset stomachs. I'll stop there... Oh, you're wondering where the worst Chinese food was I've ever eaten? It's the Super King buffet by Town East Mall in Mesquite on restaurant row. Ocean Buffet in Garland at LBJ and Centerville is pretty good. I think the the Royal Buffet in Rowlett is also...
