Although I love shopping Aldi for there great food selections and normaily there prices. I was not to happy about a recent pricing issue on the boneless lamb. I was trying to find a lamb for Easter which I never could . I guess this local grocery stores has sold out . So when I saw this special, which I thought looked like it would be a good discount on the sticker price on the lamb . They had label over the section of the Frozen boneless lamb in their Aldi.specials section that said clearance scan code. There was no percentage on that label stating what the price on the tag should be discounted too. The lamb itself it had a sticker that was the original price. No stickers over the top of it or anything. I asked about that and they told me they can't help how that happens with their label pricer. The lamb will ring up for whatever price it rings up and they have no control over It. It most likely is going to be the price on the sticker . When she rung it up it was the price on the sticker . They said they put those up there just to move the meat out the door. So this was no clearance ! That label over that section was very misleading ! I think they need to fix this issue! I hope that is not going to be their new way of doing clearance sales. If so, maybe losing a lot...
Read moreI've always been a loyal Aldi fan. I shop there regularly for groceries, household items, garden supplies, shoes, and even clothes. Today, I was in Gastonia and decided to stop by this Aldi location after leaving the bank. Since I had just withdrawn cash, I had $20 bills on me, which is rare because I usually use my card. I picked up 3 bags of chips, and my total came to $8.60. I handed the cashier a $20 bill. Instead of giving me $11.40 in change, she only handed me $1. I immediately let her know that I gave her a $20, and she responded, “You’re right, but I’ll have to call my manager to open the drawer.” The manager arrived, told her to go to the back, and then the cashier came back and told me her drawer was “correct.” Without any further discussion, they proceeded to call the police on me. I was shocked. This experience was extremely unsettling. It felt sketchy and dishonest. Someone once warned me that something similar happened to them at this very Aldi, but I brushed it off thinking they were exaggerating. Now I know they were telling the truth. Be careful at this location. If you shop here, I highly recommend using your card, not cash. I hate to say it, but it really feels like there are scammers working at this Aldi. If I could give this location a zero...
Read morePrices are great and stock is available but I seem to get the impression that once you're in the check-out line, you become a nuisance. Today I heard "I'm gonna need some back up here" from the cashier. Innocent enough in words but tone and inflection send a greater message. The message I got with this and the following comment was I'm a bother and my $350 order with two carts of groceries was too much to handle at one time... I tried to help by moving cases of items from one cart to the next while my daughter gave the cashier one of each and the quantity but then was "scolded" and told to put the items on the belt so things didn't get mixed up... Again, tone and inflection make ALL the difference. I got the feeling she thought I was trying to pull a fast one and steal stuff....🤔 If this were true, there is a way to handle this WITHOUT being...
