Tequilas Gastonia — Restaurant in Gastonia

Two months ago my husband, Mike, heard about Tequilas on 2212 Union Rd, Suite 300, Gastonia, NC from a coworker. Since then we've been ordering "Take Out" Taco Salads, Burritos, Chimichangas, etc., from Tequilas on a weekly basis, give or take a couple days here and there. Lol.

For us, THE FOOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT here, with fresh, generous amounts of meat...beans...rice...cheese...lettuce (Romaine or Iceberg~ your choice),...sour cream...guacamole...diced tomatoes...and thin homemade crispy tortilla chips accompanied by finely diced, slightly spicy Red Salsa...etc!

And those Taco Salad bowls are consistently deep-fried to perfection and FULL! YUM!

Every meal we've ordered has been delicious and more than filling!!! Plus, each "Take Out" order has only cost a total of $19 to $20 for the TWO of us on those nights when I don't feel like cooking but we want something more substantial and healthier (and often cheaper) than fast-food burgers and fries or a pizza.

Also, an added benefit to being a Tequilas customer is THE ATMOSPHERE OF BEING GENUINELY WELCOMED BACK EVERY TIME YOU WALK THROUGH THOSE DOORS.

Between the Owner/Manager who's never too busy to greet you, the chefs (Yes, "chefs"! The food is that good!) who almost always call out "Hola, Amigo!", and the always-smiling ladies who take your orders, this is one happy place to exchange 'dinero' for 'delicioso'.

All in all, my husband and I do hope you'll check this place out because it's a good "family" restaurant...

First of all I want to say that I used to love eating here! Used to come here on my lunch break with my coworkers but I must say today not only was I disgusted but I will NOT go back there to eat! We came in, for starters they aren’t wearing masks taking orders. I looked past that, server took our order. As we were waiting on our food I noticed some bugs crawling on the chair behind my son and fiancés head (looked like tics). I brought it to the waiters attention and he gladly moved us to another seat. As we waited for our food in the other seat they continued to pass the seat we sat at didn’t clean it didn’t even touch it! Our food arrived and then we kept seeing nats flying around our food. One landed on my fiancé’s plate and at that point we were done. We barley touched our food! When we asked for management an employee said he was “at the store” and asked if we wanted to wait. We already sat there for 10 extra mins waiting on the ticket. They still made us pay for part of our meal which I didn’t mind paying for our drinks but we legit took two bites of our food and he was extremely rude when we told him about them flying around and the bugs on the other chair! Not only are we in the middle of a pandemic and still trying to have somewhat normal outings with family and friends but now you have businesses that don’t seem to care about their bug problem or sanitation of the seating area in their restaurant! I am so sick to my stomach and I was really looking forward...

I have been to Tequila's several times, it is mediocre food, but this trip really irritated me, and I don't usually give bad reviews. I arrived at 12.32 for lunch, and noticed it was quite busy, so I can live with sitting there for a few minutes without being greeted. The hostess took our drink order, water and diet Coke. Waited another 5 minutes for those to arrive and made it clear we were ready to order, before the server disappeared again. We ordered our food, and the wait began.... I noticed the dust settling and the patrons getting checks and leaving, and no food being run from the kitchen. We ordered another Diet Coke, and the server brought it back in a to-go cup. Thinking to myself that's odd and asked for the check when the meal arrives. Sever comes back immediately with the check and takes the card and runs it. Still no food... Is this McDonald's? Even tipped the server before the food... Then at approximately 1.15 our food is given to us in to-go boxes, we never mentioned the word to-go. I guess they didn't want us there. I live a 1/2 hour away and got to eat a cold #11. Which was Cold Chicken Quesadilla, the cheese was already hard, the rice and beans were cold. I will never go back, rather stay in Belmont and eat at Taxco. They never forced me to leave with a to-go...
