I went to buy shows for my grand children for school. The staff was willing to ask everyone that was in the shoe area if they needed assistance. But me. I had to stop a lady coming from the stock area and ask if the had another pair of shoes in a 11/2 in girls. She brought a few pair out and I finally had 5 pair of Nike shoes after being there over a hour hunting the right sizes. Headed to checkout and one lady was in front of me. The cashier was friendly and ask for the usual email and such. Well I place the boxes on the counter. And the cashier opened each box and didn't ask me anything about my email. The only remark she made was " please look at the monitor to be sure that the price I was paying. Well I took that as a insult. Like I didn't realize they was expensive. I didn't say anything. When she said it was 385 looked at me like I was going to complain or something. I said is that all. Shut I thought I was going to spend about 500. Not another word was said from the cashier. Maybe since I was in my work clothes she thought I couldn't afford 5 pair of Nikes. Crazy how grown people are still stereotyping people by the way they dress or look. The ignorance of this lady bothered me. But little did she know I'm well above her pay grade... Needless to say my grand children enjoyed their new shoes. So beware if you walk in there in work cloths. You will be treated differently. Some of us get dirty at work being a...
Read moreThis was just a very poor experience. Me and my mother were here just to get out of the house and shop. I had picked a few shirts out that I was going to try on and probably buy. My mother was standing just outside the fitting room when a very balding and disgruntled Belk’s worker told her in a rude way to get away from the fitting room. He then entered and stared at me for a good 15 seconds and then left. My mother apologized but he just ignored her and kept on moving. I put all of those shirts back and told my mother that we were leaving. Belk’s has gone way down hill in the last few years and it really shows. Nobody will help you find anything that your looking for and if you dare ask you’ll get the cold shoulder or a rude answer back. Me and my mother are not perverts and she wasn’t trying to sneak a peek at anyone in the fitting room. I’ll spend my money somewhere else and actually get decent and upstanding customer service like at DXL. And to the "gentleman" who was rude to my mother. I’m sorry your short and balding and can only find employment in a rundown department store. Maybe one day when you learn some manners and make it to big boy height you can go find work...
Read moreVery terrible customer service. We went to get my son some pants yesterday. For one pair of pants we walked the entire store top and bottom trying to find someone to check us out while signs were on every register saying closed. 2 ladies told me to go to the jewelry stand to check out where 2 employees were helping one person. They asked if I tried a different register and I explained to them I walked the store trying to get checked out and was told to come here. While checking me out the other lady started complaining wanting to know why they keep sending everyone to her. I was so close to walking out. Had it been my clothes and not my sons I would have not bought the pants and I will never go back. Belks you need to do better. Atleast have someone at one register on both floors for check out. Customers shouldn't have to hunt a person just to check out. Especially when there were several just walking around the store. No one wanted to do...
