On July 11, 2021, I purchased a Visa VanillaGift Card for an emergency situation at the Stripes Convienent Store on Main Street in Gatesville, Texas. When I came home, at 2am, to send the card to a friend in another state, the error message told me to load the card? I had to call the customer support at Vanilla Visa and they told me that the card was fraudulent. I was told to go back to the store and ask the cashier to call them so that they could explain to her what to do. I then returned to Stripes and explained to the cashier that she needed to call customer service at Vanilla Visa so that they could speak with her about how to resolve this situation. The cashier told me that she did not want to get involved?!?! I told her that she already was because this was her fault for not loading the card correctly. She said that she was not at fault...I told her the she was the one behind the counter pushing the buttons on the cash register...she was responsible. I got very angry and I will admit this. It was an emergency and this woman was completely being unreasonable about making a phone call to correct her mistake. I told her that this was f@#$!@ up and she told me to get the f!@# out of her store. I asked her would she please refund my money? NO...could she please put the money on another card? NO...Stripes Convenient Store has made no effort to resolve this situation. I have called over and over and over again and was told that they would immediately push it through...only to be told today...3 weeks later, that it never was pushed through for immediate resolution. I was also informed that this should have been taken care of in 7 days...nope. I am thinking of going to the DA here or hiring a lawyer and all of you are asking why, right? Because that $404.95 is half of my Social Security Disability Check. When you are on SSDI and cannot work, you don't make much money. I worked and this is money I put in to Social Security, its not a gift or welfare. I am so disheartened because I am being put into a catastrophic financial hardship by this. They don't give a damn. Stripes Convenient Stores are now owned by 7 Eleven and I and they are lying, cheating, thieves, and heartless...they don't care about the fact that I cannot buy my medication or the necessary items that I need to live on, food, electricity, gas, etc. Thank you, and no, I don't need anything...I will get by, I always do.
