TLDR: decent gym if you live close, other wise take your business to a gym who actually cares and takes pride in their facility!
EDIT from owner comments: very excited to hear about the proposed enhancements. Though your response doesnât actually respond to what I was stating. No, a maintenance tech would easily have been able to fix the one cable that was broken for months. Ace hardware has everything youâd have needed. No supply chain issues to blame. Second, the benches you purchased were one of the issues as those were the faulty Best Buy benches! I wasnât stating that âI canât share equipmentâ I was explaining that there isnât enough weight plates for 3 moderately strong individuals to workout at once. â I am happy to update this review after basic maintenance occurs and basic gym equipment is available for use.
EDIT EDIT- the owner reached out to me via FB to argue and insult me calling me a âkeyboard warriorâ instead of attempting to learn about my complaint and potentially fix it. Immature and sad.
This gym is perfect if you live very close. Unfortunately it seems the owners donât care about maintaining quality here. Machines are broken for months at a time when itâs a simple fix. Nothing ever gets reupholstered. Once a year everyone pays a $30(?) annual âequipment enhancement feeâ after this go around they bought 1 treadmill. Albeit one of the cool assault runner treadmills that I have to admit I use and love however, assuming 500+ members they had over $15k to play with. Seems they took a large bonus instead of maintaining equipment in desperate need or adding additional equipment like a hack squat, new barbells, heavier dumbbells, more weight plates, more attachments handles/fixing them, purchasing bands. Or even more collars since they only have 2 working good pairs! This gym is incredibly convenient for me. I have to pass it to go to another gym which is the only reason we still have a membership here. Please, if you are reading this understand that I want this gym to be better and I want to take pride in my gym! Itâs simply difficult to with the perceived lack of interest in your business.
Attached are some photos showing what Iâm talking about. One (1 of the 3 total barbells) of the barbells was literally filed to change the knurling and is now sharp and a liability! They bought cheap benches that Best Buy sells for home gyms and they werenât put together probably and pins were slipping while using it. They seem to think a liability waiver keeps them safe from faulty and unmaintained equipment.
Please buy better equipment and more, more barbells, more weights. During peak times itâs difficult to find...
Read moreMaintenance with a gym is critical, especially in these times. Workout benches are always loose, some equipment still needs to be recovered, not all tvâs work for cardio equipment, the fan in the bathroom hasnât worked in years (also maybe put a bench and hooks in there so when people have to change, they donât have to put their clothes on the floor), the toilet in the other bathroom has been out of order for two weeks, the storage cubbies are broken and look like they have never been cleaned. I shouldnât have to search for a spray bottle, Every machine should have a cleaning spray bottle. If I were the owner, I would be embarrassed by this facility. I would have given it 1 star, but some of the trainers are very friendly and helpful. And how about investing in a real olympic flat bench press. Clean it up and you may actually get more people in the door. 10/14/2021 - Same ol same ol. Ripped/torn benches, broken equipment and lack of anything new( but they did take my money out on time to go towards fixing and new equipment). If you want to be part of a run down gym, this is the place...
Read moreI recently rated this gym a 5 out of 5, however I am changing that for a few reasons. First, I paid for a trainer. He was great the first go around. I continued and felt completely taken advantage of. He canceled on me a few times right before our scheduled appointment. He was late several times. I addressed the issues with management and him and we got back on track. The very next appointment, I showed up 5 minutes early, he was working out and told me to warm up while he TOOK A SHOWER!!!! On my dime!!! He came to get me with only 10 minutes of our time left. When I addressed the fact that I didn't have time for a workout, he basically blew me off and continued talking about the new app the gym had. One in which he didn't know how to use. I then told him he owed me a session. So he scheduled me and didn't show up. Morgan is the manager and she is great! The only reason I haven't made a bigger deal is because she hooked me up with Jen who seems very professional and nice. Ask around before committing to a trainer. Too expensive to be taking showers...
