We came in after any lunch rush so service was fast and friendly. Food came out pretty quickly as we usually finish the chips everywhere else and were not even halfway through them here. My tamales were very good - shredded pork was very tender with a great slow cooked taste and the masa dough must have sauce added in as it has a great taste also ( most is just masa, water, and lard - I use broth and add cumin to my dough). The red sauce was very spicy (not hot) and flavorful!!! Yum! Hubs tacos were just basic goodness which is sometimes all he wants and the $$ was better than other places so a definite win on those!!! We will definitely be back!! Add on: we did indeed come back!!! I had the enchilada verda and WOW! Their green sauce is packed with flavor with only a bit of a bite. Plus the shredded chicken was tender and full of flavor also. Hubs had a couple of beef enchiladas and this time he got to enjoy the red sauce - loved it! I like that this place uses spices and herbs to add flavor and doesn't just make stuff pepper hot to hide the lack of other spices. 3rd update: Oct. 26, 2025. Hubs and I still love this place. They had birria tacos todays and they were awesome! I have...
Read moreLet me start by saying the staff was excellent—friendly, attentive, and quick to refill our drinks. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our visit.
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, and while it wasn’t very busy, the interior clearly showed signs of wear and neglect. It may have once been a nice spot, but it’s definitely in need of serious updates.
As for the food, it was a major disappointment. Neither my wife nor I could finish our meals. She ordered the Texas rice, and while the cheesy rice had some flavor, the chicken and steak were both dry and bland. I had the Carne Asada, and it was by far the worst I’ve ever had—overcooked to the point of being inedible, like shoe leather. It honestly tasted like it had been prepared days earlier and just reheated. I’ve never had such flavorless food at a Mexican...
Read moreWhat I ordered looked more like a flauta than a chimichanga. The wrap tasted old or had picked up the taste of the other food in the refrigerator, not sure which, especially at the ends so I ate the middle of one and did not eat the other one. There were two of us but we were given one very small bowl of salsa. They are skimpy on the salsa, not sure why, it is not very good. Our waitress never came back to our table to see if we needed more salsa or to clear the plates that were pushed aside. Its not that she was busy, she was walking around but I could not get her attention and had to call a different waitress for napkins and more salsa. This place is pricey, which I dont mind, if the food and service are good. The service was horrible and I would not go back, even if someone else was paying the bill. Would...
