Georgetown Antique Mall — Local services in Georgetown

I should have known better. Georgetown is its own little microcosm; it has none of the charm of a small town, while still lacking the sophistication of a larger city. So, when my boyfriend suggested that we try this antique mall, I had to really try to be open-minded. Unfortunately, this place was awful. While a large antique mall, they didn’t have the greatest pieces (or prices). I might have inquired further about a couple of items, but the staff/owners were so unpleasant and incredibly paranoid. Not long after arriving, I asked an older woman at the desk if they had a restroom. She said no and suggested that I use the restroom at a sandwich shop up the street. When she addressed me, she looked at me as if I were diseased. She then stared at me until I left the store to use the restroom up the street. She apparently gave my boyfriend the same glare, as he commented that he wasn’t sure he wanted to go back. But, we did go back. There were small signs everywhere reminding the customers that they were under surveillance. The staff made no effort to disguise that they were keeping an eye on us. At one point, a strange woman with a pseudo-mullet actually followed us downstairs and proceeded to check boxes to make sure that we weren’t stealing. We immediately left once there was little doubt what was happening. We continued shopping in Lexington, where the not so insignificant amount of money we had budgeted for antique furniture was...

I don't normally do this type of thing, but I just have to say a huge "Thank you" to all of the friendly & knowledgeable staff at the Georgetown Antique Mall, as well as extend a tremendous amount of gratitude from my family & friends. My family/friends are truly diverse & unique (one of my most cherished things about them), however - they can be a little hard to shop for! So, I was almost at my wits end this past holiday season as I wanted something special that just couldn't be purchased everywhere. I am so happy that I stopped in as I was able to purchase amazing items for most of those on my list... You don't know how much this meant to me & again, from my heart - Thank you so much! Let me tell you about Georgetown antique mall you can find it all in this place , ten of thousands of products if you take your time walking threw this place you can. Easly burn a whole day , 5 hours in you realize theirs a basement with evan cooler stuff , and when your on your way out you discover theirs a 2nd floor, the art on display rivals any galleries in scott co , their are master works from around the globe and the staff are the most knowledgeable of any shop I've ever been in , you can wonder threw this place no charge , regardless of what your looking for you can find it , the books , the silver. The furniture, the stock is constantly revolving. And if you have stuff to sell they will rent you your own nooks to place your objects for sale . 5 stars cuz I can...
