Desserts by Rebecca — Restaurant in Georgetown

I rarely leave reviews, but after witnessing the ongoing harassment and passive-aggressive behavior from this business owner, I feel compelled to share my personal experiences with Rebecca’s bakery.

For my 16th birthday, I ordered what was supposed to be a pastel, ice cream-themed two-tier cake — a dream I’d been looking forward to. What I received was completely off-theme: a bland cake covered in bunny sprinkles… in November. It didn’t taste good, and it certainly didn’t match the vision.

Later that year, my mom agreed to split the cost of a team banquet cake — again from Rebecca. The cake was poorly made, names were misspelled, and multiple guests commented on how bad it tasted. It was another disappointing and embarrassing moment.

After swearing off the business, I was asked to pick up a cake for a children’s party I was working. Rebecca insisted the cake hadn’t been paid for (it had), then shoved it at us. It was pink — despite the clear request for no pink. When we opened it at the party, the child was visibly disappointed, and her mom was frustrated.

Beyond just the poor product and customer service, I’ve seen this business owner publicly tear down others in the community — something no small business should be doing. There is room for kindness and collaboration in Georgetown. Being threatened by competition doesn’t justify unprofessional behavior.

This is not a fake review. I’m local, and I’ve watched this for years. I genuinely hope this business chooses to grow — not just in product quality, but...

The Owners I have known literally since that moved here! Watched all of there childern grow up next door, and witnessed many kind acts from bring us baked goods for my then elderly mother, as made me many yrs if Birthday treats! Witnessed them always working on there home themselves! To having a bakery in her house, and moving on to having the business she has today, as watching them be active in Church this whole time with the boys! James, and Rebecca where the best neighbors anyone could ask for! And as far as her baking skills? They have always been wonderful! I fined it very insulting that people who would try to make a comment so off cuff of someone over a dessert name that SHE did not pick out! It was already named , and she just did as most anyone? When baking ! Call it what the recipe called it! These people have way to much time on there hands to start attacking someone over a Brownie! It seems maybe ? That someone is maybe alittle jealous or a competitor who knows she has a Awesome bakery, and has been doing very well, and will continue as long as she wants to pursue this endeavor! She work long hrs, and has a wonderful place as quality products, and great serve! If you are looking for a wedding cake or just a Browie? You are doing yourself a injustice by not stopping in, and giving this place a try! Just keep in mind once you try it you will be back! God Bless You, as James you both worked hard for this! I ordered 20 cookies for $80, they looked terrible (I was told after I picked up the cookies that black bleeds to other colors). They were also not the sign I sent. They were the right theme. I ordered this through Facebook Messenger so when I had issues, I went back to messenger. Not only were they not what I wanted but they were very sloppy. They did not have any covering on them at all. Not wrap as described on the sheet given with them and no lid on the box. I sent a message back on messenger letting them know and they replied once and stopped. I didn’t look at the cookies close enough when I was in there picking them up because I also had a baby with me that did not want to be there. The response was that I could have asked them to be covered when I was and that I could bring them back to be “cleaned up”. For $80 I didn’t expect to have to ask for food to be covered before leaving. One of these cookies also had a hair baked into it. That was found by someone from our party when they were eating it. The lady at the front seemed super nice and I could hear her talking with the lady in the back and she sounded extremely hateful to the girl upfront. Adding pictures of the way the cookies were given to me and the hair. They didn’t taste the greasiest either but I didn’t really except this style of cookie to be the best tasting. I have seen some great Mickey Mouse cookies from here that look great and did not bleed as well as other cookies in general with...
