Ivy Hall Dispensary - Glendale Heights — Local services in Glendale Heights

I’m here multiple times a week, and it’s always in the last hour for the extra discount. Each bud tender I’ve ever had has been amazing ie: Delano, Maddy, and tonight I had Conor. Here’s where the problem lies. I typically pay in cash, but tonight I tried to pay with debit, however because my card has a small split by the chip it wouldn’t read. Conor suggested I swipe, still didn’t work. So we decided to redo the order and pay with aeropay, but we forgot that online in the last hour you can’t select same day pick up. I said to Conor, “it’s ok, I understand” (I have BOA I was just going to cross the street use the ATM with my phone and come back) but by this time multiple other bud tenders came out. One in particular, the one that you’d be confused on whether she’s a he/him but she wears the button that says she/her, decided to try the same things me and Conor tried AFTER I said to her “the card won’t work, it’s ok” She then walked to the back and told security, “We need you, this lady might have to be removed.” Given as she was walking to relay the message Conor and 2 other bud tenders were reprocessing my order for a cash payment because I realized at the last minute I had cash. I have been in dispensaries when a person needed to be removed, they were loud, belligerent, and or disrespectful. My voice didn’t raise above conversational level one time I was calm, and Conor was actually a cool dude and really wanted to help. So to tell a security who carries a gun and is authorized to use deadly force “a removal might be needed” because of #1 a mistake, and #2 your machines not being as up to date as they look( no tap, no Apple Pay, can’t manually punch) is wild in the climate we live in today. I've been a regular medicinal customer at Hatch in Addison for a couple of years and was excited for a dispensary closer to home. To my surprise, Ivy Hall does not waive taxes for medicinal customers, something that Hatch and other dispensaries do. Taxes are ridiculously high, so this is a great perk. Ivy Hall instead offers medical customers 15% off six days a week and 25% off on Mondays, which isn't as good. In short, I paid about $25 more at Ivy Hall than I would have at Hatch, and that's with 35% stacked discounts for my first visit! Yikes! 🫤

The overall aesthetic and ambiance is pleasant, if a bit chaotic from a merchandising viewpoint. The staff, like most dispensaries, are all super-friendly and helpful, although there are a LOT of people just standing around. They seem overstaffed. They've only been open for a month, so I'm sure they'll improve many aspects of their operation over time.

However, as a medicinal patient, I will not be returning when Hatch is much more accomodating and affordable for medicinal patients. Ivy Hall is just too damn expensive! They're great for recreational users since they do offer some nice discounts, but for medicinal users Hatch in Addison is the better choice price-wise.

Update - I gave Ivy Hall another shot and still ended up paying way more than Hatch - again. IH had two Verano 1g carts 2 at $55 each, or $110 for both, a special for "Charter Club" members. Total with taxes was $153. I got the same two 1g carts at Hatch for $55 each, total was $113. On my 21st birthday I walked into ivy hall. The staff upfront wished me a happy birthday and welcomed me aboard the business charter with my phone number. After I walked in back Eric greeted me and asked if I needed any help which is great because I needed an experts help, I don't know much about cannabis. I said I was looking for blunts and sativa flower. He recommended a brand named daze off. He showed me what it looked like and it looked amazing.he recommended this natural hemp blunt paper and I have to say it's awesome. It was super easy to roll. I had no problem I just needed to lightly tap it with my tongue and it didn't rip at all. The blunt burned slower then I've ever seen it was amazing and tasted good. I'm happy the blunt paper has zero tabbaco. I dont want to use any nicotine. The bud grinded very well I had no friction or resistance. The days gone flower smells very nice.
