I had one the most traumatizing experiences of my life at Shahi Biryani (Glendale Heights) restaurant today. Ordered two biryani’s (1 chicken, 1 goat) and one chicken 65 - togo. Picked up the order and after reaching home and getting ready to eat the biryani, i realized they never gave me the dahi and chatni and also that the goat biryani had about 3 pieces of meat. Drove back to the restaurant asked for the dahi & chatni and gave them the goat biryani telling them there is not enough meat.(this isnt the first time - twice before we had called them with the same issue and one can also read similar reviews from other customers here on google). A couple minutes later the owner comes out and tells me i am lying by shouting in to my face - he says thats not how they pack their biryani because the meat was on the top - which of-course i had put on purpose so they could see how much meat they had put in the box - humans don't have meat scanners for eyes - the biryani had to be taken out - thats the only way i know there was less meat - but the guy never gave me a chance to explain, he kept jumping on to me and claiming i was lying because “thats not how they pack their biryani” but packing was not the issue, if he would have listened to me to try to understand the situation instead of jumping to a conclusion, it was a very easy situation to resolve. Felt extremely threatened by the way i was treated, at one point i thought he would hit me. After i took my refund and walked out multiple customers who witnessed the whole scenario approached me with “I’m sorry you had to go through that, thats not how they should be treating customers”. I have been going to Shahi Biryani since many years and always gave them the benefit of doubt because they are in my neighborhood, but the extremely dangerous situation i was put in (apart from being called a liar) for a few pieces of meat has prompted me to not only write this review but also consider...

The restaurant's ambiance is inviting and comfortable, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. The interior decor and soft lighting created a cozy atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the biryani! Oh my, where do I even begin? Their biryani is truly fit for royalty. The blend of fragrant basmati rice, tender succulent pieces of meat (or vegetables for vegetarians), and the perfect balance of spices was a symphony of flavours dancing on my taste buds. Every mouthful was a delightful explosion of taste, and I couldn't get enough of it!
Their menu is extensive, offering a wide range of delectable dishes. I also tried their flavourful kebabs, rich and creamy curries, and a variety of freshly baked bread - each dish was prepared with utmost care and authenticity.
Their service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to help with any dietary preferences or recommendations. They truly made me feel like a valued guest throughout my entire dining experience.
Portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and taste they delivered. They provided exceptional value for the culinary delights it offers.
As a biryani lover, I have tried many versions in different places, but Shaahi Biryani has undoubtedly become my top choice in Chicago. It's evident that the chefs here are passionate about their craft and take pride in serving the best to their customers.
If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, especially biryani, Shaahi Biryani is an absolute must-visit! It's an experience that you won't want to miss. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Five stars...

So, picture this: you waltz into the restaurant, all set to embark on a culinary adventure. But wait! Hold on to your wallets, folks, because the prices have decided to take a joyride to the stars. It's as if they received a memo from the intergalactic council of overpriced delights. Impressive, isn't it?
But fear not, my taste-seeking comrades, for when it comes to flavor, this place knows how to put on a show. It's a symphony of spices that dances on your taste buds like a Bollywood dance number. So, as you savor each bite, you might just forget, albeit temporarily, about the dent in your bank account. Emphasis on "temporarily."
Now, here's the twist: the portions have decided to play hide-and-seek. They've become the Harry Houdinis of the culinary world, vanishing before your very eyes. It's like trying to find the lost city of Atlantis, but with smaller servings. You'll be left pondering whether to appreciate the taste or launch a search party for the disappearing portions.
In the end, it's a delightful conundrum of taste versus price. A culinary tightrope walk that leaves you contemplating the value of your dining experience. Is it worth breaking the piggy bank for these flavorful delights? Well, my friend, that decision rests solely in your hands.
So, my fellow food enthusiasts, as you venture into the realm of Hyderabadi specialties, prepare for a whirlwind of taste and pricing acrobatics. Remember to bring your sense of humor and a dash of sarcasm, for it adds an extra sprinkle of flavor to your gastronomic escapades. Bon appétit, or as they say in Hyderabadi style, khush khaana, with a side...
