We are so happy to have this market in the area. Very convenient, good produce, bakery and specially the flower shop. After a foot surgery i stopped today with my son for 2 minutes to get something from the bakery. While leaving, i stopped in front of the flowers and showed my son the beautiful arrangements. All of a sudden the flower shop young lady approached and offered me a pretty bouquet of white huge roses, i refused and she insisted. She stated they sometime do that to the customers. Both my son and myself were speechless. They are very generous, nice and Smart. With this gest they guaranteed me and my son as customers. By the way a month ago on my way to visit my cousin i stopped there with my sister to purchase a bouquet, i got African roses, ( the gentleman there told me they will last very long) by the time i paid for my roses they offered my sister a huge, gigantic, bouquet of Stargazer stating this is a gift. We refused and insisted to pay and when he noticed we were serious than he said Ok, dont get offended and just tip the lady $5. We left the store speechless and couldnt believe what happened. My sister was visiting me from overseas for 2 weeks and it was her 3rd day and for the remaining time, she told me that evertime she went to visit her friends, she stopped by big square and got a bouquet from there.( i leave 2 blocks away) By the way my sister went again to my cousin just after 8 days and told me the African roses were still in great shape. I hate to say it, but the women stocking the shelves, working deli and cash registers were friendly. The men were not. And the management? Not friendly at all. When the cashier was ringing me up, he stood behind me in line with his arms folded staring at her. Back to the store! Ample parking. Decent display when you walk in, the bread and gift chocolates almost look high end. Then you get to the produce and some is nice, some not so nice. Prices okay, nothing exciting or awesome deals. Produce quality is not on the high end. I had to pick through the onions, peppers and turnips to find stuff that wasn't wrinkly or on the old side. The mangos where way overripe. Mushrooms old. Peaches and nectarines super fresh and new. Produce area is basically one third the size of Ralphs or Vons. Dairy was okay. Small meat department, average prices. Deli is small, with a decent selection. The center of the store is basically dollar store stuff and random household supplies. You can get deli containers of all sizes. Pots, pans, plastic plates, etc. The bakery did smell lovely, didn't get anything, but I will next time. I'll probably go somewhere else for my regular shopping, but if I need deli meats or bread, I'd stop by. If the produce was in better shape, I'd probably use them more often. It seems like Robert knew some customers there and helped them out first. I believe he’s the manager. I also spoke to his superior to explain the situation, he simply said they are just busy. It is a shame that because of lack of training and service I will recommend all my friends and family to stay away from the meat dept. They don’t care if u are disable they will help their friends ahead of u. They don’t have a proper way of calling customers. It’s like a free for all. Also the meat dept is not the same anymore. The meat is not the freshest and prices are so high more than Costco and even Whole Foods with very bad service. What a joke
Received and response from the store saying I was “misunderstood” really ? How was I misunderstood when I saw people after has being served and your service is horrible.
I am sure no changes will be made in their training and understanding customer service in this highly competitive industry. Beyond upset and angered by their response.
