SERIOUSLY, PLEASE READ THIS!!!! I just have to say, the majority of negative reviews on this site are totally bogus. I booked this hotel through travelocity due to its location (as we wanted to be fairly close to all attractions of LA/Hollywood etc) and of course the price. We planned this vacation on a whim and I did my research AFTER booking. I clicked on the low star ratings because I wanted to be prepared for the possible cons of this hotel. I saw things that practically had me terrifed to stay here. When we arrived onsite, I was more than pleasantly surprised!! The desk crew were wonderful and our room was originally booked through travelocity as a smoking room, but we are non smokers... we asked the front desk if we could have a non smoking room and they were able to accomodate us with our request. We arrived to our room and it was clean and smelled fresh. Yes, the furniture is a little outdated, but WHO CARES?? I checked all of the sheets and mattresses and they were all clean and bug free. The bathroom was clean and the ONLY complaint that I would have is that the bathroom fan was not working. But in the big picture, that was not a huge issue. I have seen complaints all over this review site and I just want to get a couple of things straight per MY VISIT.
Claim of Bugs (cockroaches and bed bugs) - We did not see a single bug in our entire hotel room Claim of Dirty Rooms - our room was spotless. Claim of Pool being crowded and barely able to swim - We swam in the mornings and evenings and had the pool almost completely to ourselves. Claim of shady people in the pool area and parking lot from the Extended Stay next door - We didnt have any issues with either of these things. Our cars seemed to be in a safe parking lot across the street and the hotel did not have strange or shady folks wandering around. Claim of Housekeepers barging into your room early and even if you had a Do Not Disturb tag on your door - We put the Do Not Disturb on the door and no one ever tried to enter our room during our entire stay. Claim of noises being heard from next door or being waken due to noisy Housekeepers - Yep, none of those things were an issue when we were there. Claim of elevators and hallways smelling of smoke/marijuana - Once again, Nope, no issues with this. Claim of Hotel being in a bad area - We drove through a nice residential area to get to our hotel. I never once felt unsafe or that we were in a bad area.
I dont recall ALL of the nasty reviews that people left here regarding this hotel, but these were the initial things that I saw BEFORE my stay that had me worried about staying here.
In closing I just have to say, I will absolutely stay here again in the future. I will also recommend this hotel to others. For the price, convenience and overall experience that I have had, this is a great pick. I hope you get the chance to read this review before letting any of the other negative reviews get to you.
Oh, and also, there is an absolutely delicious restaurant on the first floor that you must try out if you stay here. We had breakfast there every morning and their omelettes are to die for!
Thank you Days...
Read moreI go to the front desk to let the customer service agent know I had extended my stay online and I’d like to merge my current reservation with the new one and also get a parking pass with the updated dates. As I’m talking to him another agent by the name of Tony (big buy with glasses) interrupts us and tells the agent that is helping me just fine and it’s knowledgeable. Tells both of us this has to be the same morning at checkout and that it can’t be done the night before even if the reservation has been paid for. I respectfully say that’s a weird policy since most hotels I’ve stayed at you can stay in the same room and extend the night before without having to go back to the front desk and redo everything the next morning ( some people extend because they want to sleep in). Tony immediately gets really combative and yells in front of other customers really loud “that if I don’t like it, I can go and stay somewhere else!” This man wasn’t even the person that started helping me, I wasn’t even talking to him and he interrupted the agent and I, while Tony was with other customers, maybe he saw me and for some reason didn’t like me, maybe I made him insecure about something who knows. But he obviously has no sense of what his job is, which I’m sure is customer service relations. In the hospitality business people are trained to be nice and smile not be nasty and mean. He seemed very eager to fight and argue and has a lot of yucky attitude. I told him I didn’t need the attitude, I had just come back to the hotel and I am exhausted, I was just trying to extend without having to come back down to the lobby the next morning and the reservation was already paid for online. Then he proceeds to yell in a sarcastic way all the way from the front desk as I am walking out of the door “it is not attitude have a beautiful day!” What a disrespectful, yucky individual. Why even say have a beautiful day when you don’t even mean it! Obviously has no idea what customer service is, Yuck! If you don’t like your job then just quit. No one needs to deal with your yucky attitude while paying good money at this hotel for more than 4 nights and having extended a few times. And yes if I have to run into that type of nasty, street behavior again.. I will HAPPILY take my business to a different hotel where they appreciate customers and treat them with respect and I can have a much more...
Read moreMe and my wife were recommended this hotel from a friend who frequently comes here, so we took his advice and booked one night on July 21st as my wife’s 40th birthday was July 20th and she never been to California. First night was good but fast forward to night two July 22nd we put the do not disturb sign on our door and headed out that Sunday to Santa Monica pier to experience our first beach. Well we left at around noon and didn’t make it back till 10pm as you know traffic in LA is horrible. Upon arriving on our floor at our room we noticed the do not disturb sign was off and opening the door our room had been clean, that’s cool and all until my wife noticed our bottle of liquor we had in the fridge was gone because after a long day we wanted to relax have a few drinks and call if night cause we had a flight in the am on Monday. So my wife then says hey our cologne and perfume is missing besides the bottle and even some cookies and my phone charger. I then run to check the safe and thank god my 1500$ dslr camera is in there still...At this point we are upset a lil so we call front desk who was rude and said call back tommorrow room service is closed or something. So the next day before our flight we go downstairs and they only give my wife her perfume and my phone charger and someone else’s bracelet but not no bottle of liquor no cookies no polo cologne which I might add my kids got me for father’s day!! They then proceed to make excuse after excuse even accusing my wife of lying or so how she felt. We have stayed at plenty of rooms and this is the first time we had something like this happen. So we have no more time to waste as our flight was close to leaving so we had to leave. Not once did they tell us to make a police report until we arrived back home then some manger says we should call and do one over the phone which we did and police literally laughed and said this is not how it works. So I feel like we were gave the run around and not even compensated for nothing no apologies no nothing. So we will not ever set foot in a Wyndham or days...
