Worst Customer Service at Grocery Bargain Outlet – Sicklerville Location

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Grocery Bargain Outlet in Sicklerville, which claims to offer a "Money Back Guarantee"—but clearly, that’s just false advertising.

We purchased a product with their brand name on it, well within its expiration date, yet when we opened it, we found it was completely rotten. When we returned to the store for a refund, Manager Nancy was shockingly rude, yelling at us and refusing to honor their so-called guarantee. Her argument? “We don’t know when you bought it.”

Let’s be clear: If your brand name is on the box, and the expiration date hasn’t passed, you should take responsibility for selling spoiled products. That’s the whole point of a "Money Back Guarantee," right?

On top of her unprofessional behavior, she had her name tag hidden, which says a lot about the level of accountability at this store. Instead of handling the situation respectfully, she treated us as if we were trying to "get rich" by returning a $6 defective product. We finally insisted to show name , Nancy

Even worse, she claimed that store management has instructed employees not to give any refunds, regardless of the issue. If that’s true, then this store is blatantly misleading customers and refusing to stand behind its own promises.

Update 5/17/2025 . My wife went to grocery outlet to pick up celery, seemed to be an easy trip! Upon arrival the store lights were surging, and guess what ? No celery! Nothing cold at all ! There entire refrigerator section was empty! I suppose the grocery outlet didn’t spring for a generator? This is the second time ! There won’t be a 3rd time! The least the grocery outlet in sicklerville New Jersey could do is to post on their website they are having problems with the refrigerated foods, so this doesn’t affect the customers time. Go figure I’ve never heard a response back from the grocery outlet with regards to my original post, to make it right! Nope!!!!!Not too happy with this store, I purchased Amazing Grass protein powder, it said $9.99 on the shelf, we checked out and our bill was $77.83. We recently went here & are so glad we did. The store is clean & well lit. The aisles are wide & well stocked.

The prices & selection were great! We found things we’ve never seen before. The produce is very fresh & well stocked with both organic & non organic. They had a nice selection of freshly sliced deli meats at great prices. They had a great selection of seafood which prompted my husband to try some. He was very impressed with the Norwegian trout. I was impressed with the price.

They also have a self of $5 bags of food to donate. I didn’t realize it until I got home, but there was a $5 coupon printed on my receipt to take $5 off my next purchase of $25 or more.
