I was the only person in the store and the agent really didn't want to be bothered talking to or helping me. Once he engaged and on his recommendation, I bought the 5G wifi; he told me it as fast and to try it and it would be easy to return if done within 30 days. It was 10x slower than my current modem, and I went to return it the next day. He told me I couldn't return it there but had to do so in Peabody. I asked about mailing it back, and he said there was a link to do that on the website. I went home and couldn't find it, so I went back and asked him to show me where it was ,and he couldn't - the website said to return at the store. We phoned Verizon and they also told me to return at the Peabody store. I drove over there, and they said it had to be returned at the store of purchase, the GC store, and when I told her they said it had to be done there, so said no it couldn't. At least she printed out a label for me, telling me it had to be sent through FEDEX; I don't know why GC wouldn't do that. Something is wrong with Verizon and particularly the GC store. They just don't seem to care, and are not completely up front. That is the basis of the 1 star. I purchased phones there earlier and had a good experience with different personnel; but this experience tells me to go elsewhere or leave Verizon.
Update: In response to this review, both the store manager and the district manager wrote warm meaningful notes, apologizing with specific steps to improve the customer experience. Can't really ask for more than that!!!! ...
Read moreI went into the Gloucester store on 6/7/2018 @ about 4:30 and there was a woman working alone. I went there to have my numbers changed from a flip phone to a S6 Galaxy and I explain that I didn't know how to use the phone. While she was doing my phone another gentleman walked in and he asked her a question and before I know it she is helping him and forgot about me ! She had put my phone down on the counter and continue to help him.She saw I didn't know anything about this phone and didn't offer to help me at all. I have been a Verizon customer for over 30 years and never have been treated like this by anyone from Verizon. This woman has no business working in a store servicing the public. I am 1000 miles from my home doing work in mass and now to be without a phone ! I called Verizon and had my flip phone turned back on. I would never command anyone to every go into that store. When we returned to pick-up/activate the new phone, 1st- They tried to get us on a Corporate plan which would have cost us more money per month. 2nd- Asked us for our taxes in order to put us on the corporate plan. 3rd- The young lady that tried to activate the phone, who couldnt be bothered to look up from her tablet, Got me locked out of my account and told me that I need to come back the next day. She refused to call verizon directly. I told them to forget it and walked out without the phone. Called Verizon direct and ordered and recieved a phone right away.
