My daughter and I have been going here for over 4 years now and couldn’t be happier! We started with the mami and me classes, then my daughter transitioned to ballet and jazz classes and I joined their adult program. Here is what I love:

-The ballet technique is world class, seriously the best in town for children and adults! I used to dance when younger and Kelly and Vera have improved and cleaned my technique so much. I also see my 6 year old doing things properly with is key in ballet! -This is a studio where kids feel seen, supported, and challenged in the best ways. -Teachers that care about the whole child. My daughter and I have taken classes with Kelly, Vera and Emery and they are all amazing! -Amazing community of families that have become great friends of us -No drama, (Ballet can be tricky as your kiddos get into the middle school age) I have heard terrible stories from other studios, other teenage dancers and myself included when younger. but not here! -Adult and child classes -No teachers turnover

I am currently taking the adult ballet class with Ms. Kelly every Saturday from 8-9am. I am totally a beginner in ballet. She is not only a fantastic professional & knowledgeable dancer, but also a wonderful teacher. She has a lot of passion in dancing and teaching. After a few class, I've already felt like a different person, the way I am postured standing and reaching my arms. I would also like to share: 1.She is always focused on details to make sure my alignment is good, my arms, fingers , elbows, and my body weight is in the right place and what muscles I should feel engaged so that I won't injure myself and can dance much longer in my life. She also focus on strengthing my core and helping me to have good postures. 3.She is creative, respectful and motivated. 4.She plays fantastic music in the class. 5.She is very patient with every question i raised. 6.She will teach me based on my current dance level so that I can challenge myself but at the same time I won't feel too overwhelmed. 7.As a person, she is sweet, warm, kind and very caring. I have danced at two different professional ballet schools' open beginner adult classes in two different states, two other small studios' adult classes in two other states, and even a beginner ballet course in college. Other than the college class, I never stayed beyond two months. None of them were the right fit. I've now happily been at Golden Ballet Theater (GBT) for over a year! Though 99% of us adult dancers will not professionally dance, Ms. Kelly treats us (and trains us) like actual dancers. She invests in us, meets us where we are, focuses on our technique, explains the musculature and physiological fundamentals underlying technique, and how we can prevent injury and grow stronger. We have even danced in two recitals and taken a ballet exam in the year I have been with GBT! Kelly sets a high bar, but what she demands is growth, not perfection. She will always give you the means to rise to the occasion and so far, we haven't let her down! Truly, the environment here is so fun, kind, and inviting.
