Whenever I go, there is always a long wait at the register and there is always only one register open. You can occasionally find some nice, unique things to try but they are often out of staples, like salad kits yesterday. The selection is small and you can't do all your shopping there, not for a family of 5 at least. They will also do disappointing things like put up signs that say limit 2 on things like individually wrapped steaks. Really? The steaks look nice and it was a pretty good price but if you have more than 2 people to feed, you are out of luck.
Update, still the same. This time I made the mistake of forgetting my own bags. I might have gotten more things and spent more time in the store, but when I realized I didn't have my bags, you know when I gave my quarter to a little old lady who couldn't figure out how to get her quarter back from her cart, yeah at that moment I remembered I didn't have my reusable bags and how how silly Aldi's is. So I went into the store bought the few items I had to have and left. Aldi's loss I guess.
Update, don't know why I came back in. Another 1 open checkout lane day. The line was all the way back to dairy when I got up there. I gave them a couple minutes to open another lane, but when I'm already back there, why did I think they would open another lane.
Now what do I do? I have items in my basket, but they have my quarter. Well there's all these empty lanes no one is using so I unpack my 80 bucks of stuff onto the unused conveyor belt and then return the basket for my quarter. I don't know how this place is still in business, must be they only have one employee. I'm surprised 7-11 hasn't already taken all their business. Trader Joe's is going to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Aldi is decent and trust me, I've been to some terrible locations in several different states. The produce is usually always fresh but I have seen some old moldy produce that needed to be trashed and was shocked to see it still sitting on the shelf. But then again, you should always check your fruits, veggies, meat & dairy before buying it. Even then I once bought some fresh (not frozen) salmon here that was spoiled. The date and look was fine but when I got it home to cook (within 15min after buying it), it felt very slick and smelled like ammonia and had to trash it. I was not about to drive all the way back for a refund - I just won't buy my fish from here anymoreš¤·š½āāļø Basically I buy the bulk of my fresh produce, meat, dairy and frozen and packaged goods from here because they're still cheaper than most grocery stores. There are things outside of fish that I won't buy here that I only buy from other grocery stores. Outside of the occasional iffy freshness, the other issue is they should have self check out. Standing in long lines is so pre-covid and a lot of other Aldi already have this feature and it makes checking out so much quicker. Don't get me wrong, the cashiers are always quick, but they only have 1 or maybe 2 lines open at the same time. The staff is always friendly and they usually have most items stocked. Aldi does things a certain way to keep their cost down and that's understandable, they just need to pay more attention to old produce and cold food that's been left out and get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe move here from Southern California in June. First thing I did when we bought our home was to see if there was an Aldi nearby because I am there at least once a week. The 2 we had in the area I lived were absolutely outstanding! Clean and well stocked no matter the time of day. I have been to the one in Goodyear on Estrella Parkway a total of 4 times. The last time my husband and I went in it was absolutely filthy with rotten tomatoes, right as you walked in the door and then some a couple feet in front of that so bad that fruit flies were everywhere. There is absolutely no way a manager or worker could not have seen that because the mold was quite visible. The floor was a mess with paper and fruit. To the right where their vegetables are was almost completely empty. Many things that Aldi puts up on the shelves were not clearly priced at least five items, especially in the cooler case in the back. No prices. The milk and egg cooler section was disgusting. It happens but you can tell no one wants to give it a good cleaning. They never seem to have lactose free milk either. Every time I have gone, there is only been one cashier on duty. No one seems to be even in the store. I donāt know where the manager is hiding or where the other employees are hiding. They certainly arenāt restocking shelves. I truly hope the management and higher ups can fix this problem in Goodyear so that this Aldi doesnāt disappear. It really is a remarkable grocery store when itās kept...
