We come up to Packwood once to twice a year to stay at our friends cabin and I love this place. The humans that work here are so cheerful and helpful. I often hear as Iâm checking out âdid you find everything okay?â and once I mentioned that I hadnât and she stopped the whole process of checking out and helped me find the item I had walked right on by! This visit was no exception. I just went in to grab bandaids as I gouged myself pretty good and I was in the self care aisle and there was a worker and an older gentleman. The older gentleman wasnât well dressed or clean cut but when he asked for help finding laxatives I watched this young man assist him like he was their most important customer and even sit on the floor (the items were on the bottom shelf) and walk the man through which product he may prefer. Unbelievable customer service. This is the only grocery for miles, so they kind of have the monopoly on the grocery business, but that doesnât keep them from making sure you have the very best customer service. Also, weâre a vegan family and love that there is so many faux meat...
Read moreFirst of all let me say I absolutely LOVE the selection of stuff they have these days. My family is from Packwood so Iâve been coming there for decades to visit. I used to never be able to eat anything when I visited because Blantons didnt have very much vegetarian or healthy options. Now they have so many things Iâm used to eating, which is great. Secondly let me commend the staff. All of the women who work here are always amazing and kind and great workers. My problem is the prices. Packwood has increasingly become more expensive to live as itâs been gentrified the past decade, itâs made it hard for the locals to find housing, keep housing, etc. I was sincerely shocked when I went to buy my dad laundry detergent only to discover it was two times as much as i buy it for in Seattle. That is not accessible and I think itâs wrong. Thankfully I can afford it but I can imagine many in Packwood canât. Please make necessity products more accessible for your community...
Read moreI donât usually leave reviews, but this market absolutely deserves it â and not in a good way. The management is horrendous. It genuinely feels like they donât even want to sell groceries, let alone provide a basic customer experience. Prices are outrageously inflated â pure price gouging â as if they think customers wonât notice or have any other options.
And the store policies? Absolutely ridiculous. Requiring everyone in your party to show ID if you want to purchase alcohol is beyond absurd. If you donât actually want to sell it, just donât stock it! Iâve never experienced anything so inconvenient, insulting, and completely unnecessary. Itâs like they go out of their way to make shopping there miserable.
I ended up walking out, and honestly, I wonât be back. There are other places with better prices, better service, and, most importantly, common sense. Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere or if from out of town stop...
