I'm a loyal customer, now experiencing an issue at Petsmart Granbury with a store manager I've never seen before. I am trying to purchase a finch; there are 2 finches I've seen in this store for over a month now... (other birds also, unpurchased for months). The manager refuses to sell me the finch unless I buy the other one as she is assuming they are mated (they could be siblings, - I know well as a breeder of these birds that they bond and rebond very easily). I believe this is an infringement of Petsmart policy -- the manager should simply ask to have more birds delivered to her store and sell me this one. There is no sign posted stating the 2 birds must be sold together -- Do put such a sign to avoid customers'feeling denied their rights to buy..... Otherwise,I feel the manager simply refuses to sell me due to ... maybe a personal bias she feels for no fault of mine as a customer?! The manager lectured me that she "has the right to refuse clients so the pets get sold to the most loving family..." The comment is absurd, too: we don't know each other; my birds have the best breeding conditions as pets in their own room; where they fly freely, have the best varied food, choose their mates, get sunshine through open windows and outside on the porch; meanwhile the finch in dispute is in a small glass cage, no sunlight that the birds need for proper digestion; no water pot to bathe (which zebra finches need daily!), no veggies in sight... The store should try to sell ASAP because the living conditions of those birds/pets in the store are absolutely illness-inducing for the poor creatures and this type of finch is short-lived; I saw the mate of the one I selected is at least 3 years old.... Obviously, the manager acted ignorantly, on personal whims, because she did not offer to call Corporate to find if she could soon get company for the remaining bird if she sold me the one I selected and did not ask for a contact number to follow up on selling to me, an inteested buyer, once she got more info. Basically: " Get out, I won't sell to you, period." (Discrimination? -- I do have a European accent, but I'm a decent US citizen buyer and a TEA-certified English teacher, there was no misunderstanding in this communication). If she had asked I could have proven my membership in a TX wild life protection organization and extensive experience in raising and caring for wild and pet birds -- but bottom line: this pet was for sale individually and was denied to this buyer for no valid reason to the detriment of the pet and of Petsmart's business Now I'm even concerned to return to this store from where I used to enjoy buying for years... because of such an absurd conflict during the Holidays.... Petsmart, please address this issue...
Read moreThank you Olivia! Here is why … When we walk in to PetSmart, everyone turns and looks. Not because Tootie (our little fat HavaPoo) is so cute, but because she is so noisy! We have a loud, highly nervous pup that suffers from separation anxiety! We met Olivia when she was working up front. Bless her heart, she treated us like we had brought in a star! Tootie ran up to her acting like she had no attention from anyone in years! Olivia loved on her and told us that she just loved her! I did not know at the time, but Olivia had been the person bathing Tootie.
When our favorite groomer was promoted, we were happy for her but planned to find somewhere else for grooming until I saw that Olivia was available to bathe Tootie. She was working toward getting certified. Olivia had always been so sweet to us and our dog, that I decided to give her a chance grooming our goofy little Tootie.
The first (and every) time Olivia groomed Tootie, she had the patience it took to deal with her! She has taken the time to tell me things that help keep Tootie’s coat in better shape and I so appreciate her input! Even when I didn’t brush her as much as I should, Olivia never complains. She just makes her look pretty for us. Now, when we get Tootie ready to go, we say… “Let’s go see Olivia” and Tootie is immediately excited to go!
She still screams when I leave, but I know that she is in good hands! I cannot say enough good about Olivia. Talented, caring and sweet, she makes it all easy. So,...
Read moreI received a questionnaire before taking my Bichon Frise for grooming, but upon arrival was refused grooming. I’ve been going to this location for two years. When I arrived, it was apparent that Olivia didn’t want to groom my dog. Her attitude was very apparent and not sure why because she did everything possible to refuse us. If there were a problem, because the questionnaire CLEARLY stated the answers and it was completed and sent the day before! There should have been a phone call to me to discuss any concerns beforehand. Instead, she wasted my time and tried every means possible to pawn our appointment elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend Olivia at all, every groomer we have been to at this location has been nothing less than wonderful. Very disappointing PetSmart, very...
