My husband and I were celebrating our 32nd anniversary, along with our three grown children. Money has been tight lately for us, and food has been scarce. We only had enough money for the meat sandwiches, and NO sides. I want to mention a few employees there who made our evening extra special. Elizabeth, who was behind the serving counter, welcomed us with a lovely smile, and when she heard that we could not afford the sides, she sweetly told us that we could help ourselves to an unlimited amount of toppings, such as the pickles, onions, etc. These are probably free, but Elizabeth joyfully told us about these additions anyway. Just as we sat down at a table, a friendly cook from the kitchen (manager?) brought us 2 sides: okra and fries. He said that someone had ordered them, but then changed their minds. We saw it as a kind gesture! Both sides were delicious!
Other employees who were very nice to us were the cashier, Brickell, and the sweet Hispanic bread rolls lady. Thank you Spring Creek BBQ of Granbury, for making our anniversary dinner an extra...
Read moreLook, if you're going to a chain restaurant to eat barbecue, you ... WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU GO TO A CHAIN RESTAURANT TO EAT BARBECUE!!?? You don't go to McDonald's to eat Filet Mignon (unless there's a promotion that week for McMignon). You don't go to Taco Bell to eat Mexican Food (what the heck is an Enchirito anyhow?).
Seriously, though, like a lot of chain restaurants, the real reason I go to them (when I do, which isn't often) is that I know what to expect. I know the barbecue's not going to knock my socks off and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a decent meal. I know 100% there won't be any soul in it whatsoever and sometimes that's okay.
The people are nice here and they seem to have fun doing their job. The hot rolls in the basket - well, there's just something about having hot rolls straight out of the oven delivered to your table! I recommend cargo pants with extra pockets to make sure you have room to take home...

I got about 4 small slices and a smashed bun. My sandwich when put together was about maybe an inch tall. It felt very skimpy for the price and a lot warmer. When I was given the flag for the fries it was so dingy dirty and felt like it had never been cleaned before. I didn’t even want to touch it again. I had to have someone clean the bench my daughter had picked because there was bbq sauce on it in several places and still missed the rest of it that was really sticky. For a place that’s been closed because of COVID-19 I would expect everything to be a lot cleaner than it was. Not too sure about the 6 boxes of baked potatoes piled on top of each of stacked almost falling over by our table that were just...
