T.J. Maxx — Local services in Grand Forks

Got in line at 11:00 and didn’t get to the front of the line (to the only cashier) until 11:32. It should not take over 30 minutes to check out and this isn’t the first time it’s happened. Even a worker was in line and put his stuff to the side and went to the back and told the only cashier he’d check out later.

I counted 12 people walk out and put their items to the side (where they don’t belong). Not only does understaffing lose business but it causes more work on the employees to clean up from those who walked out.

Do better. This has been in multiple reviews since you opened…. I avoid TJs 90% of the time because I don’t have the time to wait and will go somewhere I can check out quicker.

…looking at previous reviews, Brennon Schofield commented similarly issues such as mine 4 weeks ago. Clearly nothing is being proactively done… don’t just comment. Actions speak...

Idk who does the ordering for your store now, but it used to be my favorite place to shop. The last few times I've been there, which have only been once a year and used to be at least once a month, it's just awful stuff. The clothes used to be the cutest in town. Now they are all matronly and ugly. Blah style. Used to be really trendy and hip. Even the houseware and jewelry and fragrances have gone downhill. Only a handful of designer fragrances that were popular 10 years ago. Nothing special for furniture and housewares.Used to have really neat furnishings that were comparable to Pier One but lower prices and now, just stuff you'd find anywhere that's super vanilla. I spent 2 hours looking around, swearing I'd find something and literally bought reading glasses. I used to be able to find too many things I loved. Even the purses are meh. The jewelry is old ladyish. Cheap fragrances that smell awful. Shoes are ugly. I have 2 stars only because you have good hair care. I'll give you that. I literally went to Goodwill afterward and found better stuff. Really disappointing and now I won't go for another few...

I love this store and I will continue to shop here regardless but this store is not only super messy and unorganized compared to some TJ Maxx stores I’ve been to but your cashier staff needs to learn social skills. One old lady cashier made a comment about how I should be having another kid since my daughter is already almost 4 when I’ve been dealing with infertility for a couple years. Never appropriate to make that comment and as a cashier talking to a complete stranger in a professional setting?! I wanted silence and for my stuff to get rung up but she insisted on continuing convo which got us to that point. One of the other cashiers another time I went told me the sweater I bought was cringey and kept judging how much money I was spending as if I wasn’t using gift cards I had gotten for Christmas so who cares how much I spent. Weird staff. I’d understand the unprofessionalism if they were kids just learning but these are full...
