SEPHORA — Local services in Grand Prairie

I’m a bit delayed with my review, but I had to share my fantastic experience! I went to Sephora a couple weeks ago in a pinch for makeup due to a sudden onset of cystic acne. Of course I had somewhere to be that same night! I don’t wear makeup often, and I find stores like Sephora to be overwhelming and paralyzing because there are so many products, and I’m a makeup novice at best. I spoke with an associate to express my needs, and they sent the incredible and incomparable Barbra to my rescue. That woman really knows her stuff! She color matched me and shared her professional wisdom and insights on the vegan makeup options that may work best for my skin. Barbra was thoughtful, patient, kind & answered all my questions. Not only did she help me find the most amazing foundation (Ilia)!, she also got me set up with a new blush, lip liner, and lip color to make it all pop. My acne flare up had me quite bummed, but Barbra truly saved the day and night. I felt so pretty that evening. Thank you, Barbra!

Lastly, I went back to Sephora the following week for a small purchase and there was a very kind associate at checkout. She was bubbly & friendly. She also made sure I left with my complimentary birthday gifts (March baby!), and she provided top-tier customer service as well. Keep up the great work, ladies! This beauty...

This Sephora has some of the worst customer service. I’ve been here 4 or 5 times, once when they first opened, and then a few months later, and then today. I’m hardly ever greeted and never checked on as I’m shopping but I hear other people being greeted and checked on. The black employees are just as bad, because at first I thought it was a race thing. Today I had an online order and I walked up to the cashier and she sins say hi, can I help you, nothing. She looked at me as if she was really wondering what I’m even doing there. Definitely never shopping here again and I feel like not shopping at Sephora anymore in general and spending my money directly with the brands they sell. The only employee that has ever been friendly is Jeni. I shopped here sparingly but always remember her because she’s the only one who ever acts like she has common sense and courtesy. If she’s not already in a supervisor position, put her in one because she’s great. Everyone else could use some training on basic...

Amanda assisted me with finding the products I needed and she was so helpful and personable. She took the time to show me multiple brands and multiple possible solutions for my problematic skin. They have a scanning technology for matching foundation to your skin tone now which is awesome because I went in there following a return of Il Makiage which boasts about having that technology but it doesn't. She matched me with perfect shades with ease, flawlessly and seamlessly! And she showed me a moisturizer that seemed to help my skin be less flaky or completely flake free before applying foundation which I haven't been able to solve til now.
