Terrible Customer Service and Overpriced Merchandise

Let me just start by saying that my visit to the "herb" shop was an absolute nightmare. I walked into the store expecting a peaceful and medicinal atmosphere, but instead, I was met with the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The haggard old ladies behind the counter seemed determined to make my experience as unpleasant as possible. From the moment I entered, I felt completely ignored and invisible. When I finally mustered up the courage to ask for assistance, one of the ladies gave me the dirtiest look imaginable and exhibited a terrible demeanor. It was as if I had committed a grave sin just by seeking help. To add insult to injury, I discovered that The Herb Shop had the audacity to mark up their prices by an exorbitant $10 to $20 compared to prices on Amazon. Why anyone would willingly pay more for the exact same products is beyond me. If you're looking for a last-minute herbal fix, I implore you to avoid this store altogether. Head over to Sunshine Natural Foods instead. Not only do they provide fantastic customer service, but their prices are also much more reasonable. As someone who prides themselves on their social media presence as a tattoo model, I can't help but expose establishments like this as prime examples of out-of-date individuals who mistreat others purely based on their differences. The staff at The Herb Shop act like snobs, while ironically resembling unkempt bums. It's just downright weird, and I refuse to ever step foot in that store again. I usually have a great experience shopping at The Herb Shop, with friendly and helpful staff. I visit the shop about bi-monthly when I am in town, to stock up on supplements etc.

My experience today made me question if I want to spend my hard earned money here moving forward.

The women up front were helpful as usual, but there was someone in the back area who worked there, having a very loud phone conversation about their insurance claims, a mortgage, a loan, etc, and acted ANNOYED at ME for being in the shop looking at products to SPEND MONEY ON (I spent over $100)! I have worked in customer service for years, and I know the importance of making people who are spending hard earned money in your store to feel comfortable, welcomed - to create an inviting atmosphere. I was literally getting side eyed by the woman with her feet up on a desk doing personal phone calls, when I am trying to browse and enjoy my experience in the store. Maybe it was because I was in sweatpants and didn’t ‘look’ like I would spend a lot of $? Maybe it was because the lady would rather discuss personal finance issues at a desk than help a customer? No matter the ‘why’, it was not a good look/feel, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome by that person. I don’t think I’ll be spending any more $ here.

I hope this review can encourage the employee who was more invested in their personal phone call while at work, to be kinder and less passive aggressive towards the customers who are spending their hard earned money - we all have life stuff going on, I usually don’t take care of that while at work and then act disrespectful to customers. I will be going to a different local store to spend my $ where I feel it is...

If I could give over five stars I would the lady's working at the herb shop knows what they are doing I like to stop by from time to time with my mom just something new to do and get out of the house for a few. Very knowledgeable smart pretty independent women work here and that coming form a guy hope that not weird the lady's here are quick to pinpoint what you are looking for or even if you want to find things for your self you can also do that too. More then once we have been greeted with a smile from these lady's also whats another plus you will not be followed around at all left in peace to shop. To the nice young lady running the cash register thanks for ringing us up. Definitely stop by the herb shop you will not be disappointed all different price...
