Absolutely stellar grub! I usually have a rule with sushi. I simply dont eat sushi more than 10 miles from an open ocean...usually a good rule of thumb. Decided to take a risk and trynit anyway... and I must warn you...these people must have sold their soul to the devil 'imself as payment for their sushi making skills... truely artists. The place is a little under decorated, seats were slightly uncomfortable. Ordered a random off the menu roll. It was a... ahi tuna roll. Got miso soup not the best I've ever had because i prefer it a little salty and most others dont. pretty good regardless. Noticed that the wasabi was a uniqie color and clearly not made from your typical devil cocaine. Low salt and regular soy sauces were available. Got my meal in a timely manner even with a fairly busy night ahi sushi roll... end pieces were turned on its side with some juvinile raddish sprouts poked in it. Cute. First thing I noticed is that it was very simple. There was no cream cheese, cucumber bla bla bla or avacado or other stuff piled in there just tuna...i was fully prepared to be unimpressed but hungry anyway to my surprise this little simple looking sushi roll had aproximately 3,567,294 different unique flavors. It was like...a black friday sale at best buy. And the flavors were the people rushing towards the electronics section that, in this analogy, are represented by my taste buds... Long story short...there was some sort of sause on the fish and it was insanely good. Give them a try you wont regret it unless your top 10 resturants include more than two major fast...
Read moreWow! If I owned this restaurant, I'd be really disappointed in my staff. We were looking forward to enjoying some sushi/Asian food, but the staff at Musashi had other intentions. We just picked up another friend and were heading there. We arrived there at exactly 7:48pm. We walked up to the door and the closed sign was turned to show they were closed. We were a little confused and concerned because the hours of operation said they closed at 8:00pm. LOL
Regardless, we walked in and politely asked the young lady if we could be their last table. She said, "We're already closed." I said, "That's unfortunate."
I guess the 3.75 hour shift was too much to handle taking another table. I'm sure she wasn't the owner. In fact, if I were the owner, I'd be upset my staff was turning away business. I guess the server was rich enough to turn down another potential $20 tip. I always do 20% and there were 3 hungry thirsty people that wanted some warm sake and beer. So if you're thinking about going to Musashi, you better get there at Senior Dining hours before they close at 7:45ish. I probably won't be back and was really looking forward to bringing my friends to a place I used to go quite often. For now, we'll enjoy other sushi...
Read moreWe visited Musashi for lunch right when they opened, eager to see if it lived up to the praise we had heard. The service stood out, our server was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all our menu questions.
The Food • Chicken Gyoza – A standout appetizer! Light, crispy, and packed with excellent chicken flavor. The sauce was a perfect complement. • California Roll – Fairly standard but enjoyable. The rolls were on the larger side, which made them a bit tricky to eat in one bite. • Spider Roll – Delicious! The crab flavor was rich, and the crunchy texture added a nice contrast. A drizzle of eel sauce would have taken it to the next level. • Yam Tempura Hand Roll – Another highlight. The sweetness of the yam paired beautifully with the other ingredients, while the crispy texture played well with the cucumber and the sweet-tangy sauce. • Apple Pie Gyoza – A perfect ending to the meal. Light, warm, and crispy, with a delightful apple pie flavor that made for a fantastic dessert.
Overall, Musashi delivered a great dining experience with excellent service and some standout dishes. We’ll definitely be back...
